Swarnendu Dam's Review On Bidhannagar College, Kolkata

The primary reason of opting BA - Eng Honours is my super fascination for english language and literature from class 9 or 10. After that, I chose this college because this is one of the best colleges under State University and the college campus is majestic. The best point of the college is the Students' Union and it is something I like most about the college. The Union is very supportive and dedicated towards the students no matter what is the ideology.

According to my opinion, the course curriculum for BA - English (Honors) made by the State University is very scientific and process-oriented. Students can learn and gain knowledge systematically. Elements of this course have been evenly distributed among the three years. The faculties are exceedingly qualified and hold degrees from international Universities as well. But there are only four faculty members and out of them 2 members are highly scholar though they did not offer sufficient education. My favourite faculty members are Siddhartha Dey and Topomoy Dey (HOD).

As far as I am concerned with my department, the college has hardly any scope of placements and job opportunities for the students of BA - English (Honors). But I am not aware about the other departments.

After spending three years campus life, I am satisfied and excited too. Every year good amount of cultural programmes are organized by our college such as Independence Day, Saraswati Puja, Teachers' Day, Cultural Fest, Language Day etc. The students who wish to go on with various extracurricular activities are welcome by our college. I have participated all of them since 1st year and the two events Cultural College Fest and Independence Day are celebrated in a large manner.

We have premium campus infrastructure being a government college. Each and every year Annual Sports are organized in our campus ground. The college has wifi in the students' section but not meant to use for the students. The library is very much spacious and well furnished having more than enough collection of books although it would have been more satisfying and premium. We have our two buildings and the newly established second building is 6th floor high. We have well decorated and kept up Auditorium, Seminar room and Council Room etc.
