Remarks

College management can do better work and provide students with the facilities that they pay for the good thing is they provide a second chance to student who went astray.

Entrance Preview

I joined back in 2011 and then iiit had only 3 batches including ours in btech and 2 mtech batches i got admission in iiit bbsr through OJEE it was held back then my rank was 3699. But now as it is a deemed university now it takes admission through AIJEE if interested one can directly purchase an application form from the college and apply through their rank. Well i took the ETC branch but if a student is job oriented he,she must goo for cse or it and job opportunities are more.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

IIIT BBSR in total has Four branches in btech discipline EEE,ETC,CSE, IT. As it is a deemed university now it has its own costumed course which i will say is way enhanced and specific. Its way less hectic too. If anyone should go to iiit bbsr the best reason will be the flexibility they are providing now with the curriculum. All the faculties in IIIT bbsr are well upto the mark if you go through their resumes but after all that does not guarantee that students will not get bored. Most of the faculties have IIT written in their resume i hope thats enough for anyone in india to understand how good or bad it can get.

Internships Opportunities

As IIIT BBSR is a relatively young institute till now the only internship offered in IIIT BBSR is by DELL on successful completion dell also recruits those students as permanent employee. Stipend are only offered to mtech and phd students not B.Tech.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement is the strong suit of this institute many MNC pay their visit to this institute and recruits considerable amount of students by the i mean approx 70%. Companies like DELL 5lpa,techmahindra 3lpa,IBM-3.25lpa,snapdeal-12lpa,IBEXI-4.2lpa,Infosys-3.25lpa,capgemini-3lpa lately companies like mindtree amdocs had also recruited from this institute.

College Events

3.5

The annual techo-cult festival Advaita is held every year between february and march its the biggest event that the college organizes it is divided into two parts tech for 1 and half days and cult for the rest out of 4 days in total. There are many robotics events held and seminars carried out during the first 2 days after that various cultural program follows at the end of the third day celebrity night is organised then at the end of the event djnight. Apart from that the various committees organize events for different branches to participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is little expensive for a government college as it is self sustaining that will cost around 1.5 laks per year per student. Out of which 1 lak is only for the tuition fee each year.

Fees and Financial Aid

TWF is a scholarship provided to students whose family income is less than 2 lpa and the topper of each branch is also awarded a scholarship every semester both andhra bank and icci bank handles the college accounts so any student can avail loan there.

Campus Life

3.5

There is not much to sports as the infrastructures are work in progress though they have tennis courts and basketball courts debates in the form of MUN is organised every year hostel life was cool back then no restrictions what so ever but recently the management has decided to go for some changes like study hours and specific timings to access the common rooms etc. The gender ratio is pretty even in this institute boys girls everyone is entitled to same opportunities and scope and distinction is made regarding someone caste or color, its a fun place to make friends.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

According to the money they take the facilities provided are barely minimum it has both boys and girls hostel adjacent to each other and they are nine floors high they have lift facility in each block with frequent shutdowns mostly due to the students. Mess food is good only when u order something else from the regular menu. The hostel has badminton playing area which is mostly crowded. The rooms are simple and three sharing and each block has a four sharing room.

Exam Structure

Labs are not tough just have to pay enough attention to what the instructor is saying even exams for labs will be easy if proper attention is paid remember lab exams are held before main exam so try to score good.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
