Remarks

I knew I wanted to study the field of political science in greater depth from the day I was introduced to it, in class 11. Guess I liked my career options around this subject. Why the college ? Simply because it is the best for my subject in the state. Delhi wouldn't have been a problem merit wise, but yeah we're all aware as to why our parents would be sceptical to send us there immediately after schooling.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course was very intense and good. As I mentioned before, the faculty is one of the best available. SCP ma'am, Sayoni Chakraborty Patra is my absolute favourite. They treat you like family. Especially outstation students are frequently asked about their circumstances. We had enough exposure through inter college matches, quizzes, seminars, mock parliaments etc. The only thing lacking was work experience. I recently checked the website of my college just to check the fee structure (to fill this form), and I saw Loreto's intiative to find internships for its students. So I don't think it's a problem anymore.

Placement Experience

3

It's a humanities college. Under CU. We don't do placements. But yes a few students do get offers, depends on your rapport with the HOD of your department and ofcourse Sister Principal. I don't really know much about masters program.

College Events

4.5

Campus Life is great. It is situated in the heart of Kolkata and that adds to the fun activities. We have our annual fest "Samagam", "Open day" and Sports day. Samagam has slowly started getting larger. It honestly depends on the student council of the given year. We made sure 5-6 colleges participate in 2019. Sports is huge. Our chess, throw ball, basketball and table tennis teams were very strong at that point. Our societies are great.

Campus Life

It's not a fancy college. It has solid British infrastructure. (Ghar hua karta tha kisi britisher ka). The stage is small compared to private colleges. The classrooms are nothing fancy. Projectors were put up in classes only in my second year. Sports society in our college is very active. We also have a few gym equipments in the common room. No wifi. Library isn't out of the world, but it'll be enough. Overall it's a 7.5/10

Placement Experience:

Yes, there is a placement cell at the university campus. It conducts placement related activities and programs for the students. Students are eligible for the campus placement from the 5th semester. Some companies visit the campus to hire the students. Some of the companies are E&Y, SAP, Deloitte, TCS and they have made total approximately 40 offers out of 100 students. The highest and average package of our university is 28Lakhs and 5-6Lakhs for the role of SDE. The percentage of students getting placements if about 40-45%. The seniors told me that the companies offer good packages to the students. I am in my second year so I do not have much information about it. After completing degree from this university, I'm thinking to appear for GATE examination as I want to do my Master's from IIT's.

From 7th semester student got placement and there is no limitation for placement. There are so many companies visited the campus, such as (amazon, microsoft, JP morgon, TCS , infosys, Oracle , and many more..) , they offer more than 700 to 800 students. The average package of CSE branch is approx 22 LPA and highest package is 82 LPA. There are 80 to 90 percent student who got placed. My plan after getting the job is to work hard and explore the world.

Till now I am seeing in my own eyes that in previous year, there is a 270 student in marketing and now right now the 15 student left to place and rest of the team are already placed to a many companies like ENYF Flipkart in Bandan Bank ICICI bank in a mini sector in FMCG also and FMCT also, but and retail, but I told that the ratio of placement is too higher than other college and also giving the good package is. The main thing with the job rule should be maintain the package.
