Remarks
Excellent college, great atmosphere, good labs, well experienced staff and good curriculum. The college mainly lacks a good hostel. College bus facility is also limited to a bare minimum. Labs were equipped with the latest and best equipment.
Entrance Preview
KEAM entrance exam. My rank was around 6000.I wanted to do engineering from a Government college. I had many options in mind, but with the score I had, the only option I would get was this college. Also, I was very much interested in the programme I chose.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum was revised just about 2 years before i joined. So the syllabus was up to date and contained all the required latest technologies of that time. The teachers were also quite equipped as the new regulation was in place for the last two years.
Internships Opportunities
Internships were compulsory and we had to find it on our own. No stipend was given to us for the internship. Some industries gave stipend to those who got job there.
Placement Experience
Mainly software companies came to our college. There were no core jobs on offer. Only one company came with core job and I got it. Some students in mechanical engineering department and chemical engineering department got core job.
College Events
All festivals like Onam, Christmas, Holi etc. We had college day celebration, union inauguration celebration etc. Then there was college election and the celebration for that.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Government college fee was Rs. 6000/- per year. There was a monthly college bus charge which was not too much. Main expense was for hostel which was private.
Fees and Financial Aid
None that I know. There were some for the low income students and backward community which was offered by government.
Campus Life
Extra curricular was limited due to the lack of initiative from the faculty who were already overloaded. FOSS group was active and many activities were carried out.
Hostel Facilities
External hostel. Nice food, good facility, but too expensive. Lack of college hostel was a big problem.
Alumni/Alumna
Most senior students got job in core industries. They were our inspiration to try and get a core job. Alumni chapter is quite strong conducting frequent meets which are well organized.
Exam Structure
We had two internal exams for 100 marks, which would be taken into the final internals on 50.A university exam for 100 marks.Lab was assessed internally
Faculty
Excellent teaching faculty with quite a lot of experience in teaching as well as industry. We had teachers from other branches who taught domain specific topics giving us a feel of an interdisciplinary course.
