Admission to Jadavpur University is highly competitive, as it consistently ranks amongst the best universities in India.For admissions to the Engineering Faculty at the undergraduate level, students are admitted through the WBJEE, an entrance examination open to students from all over India.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because the placement rate and average package are very good. I don't think anything needs to be improved.Faculty members are good. They will send you assignments even in the pandemic. They are very helpful. If you are stuck in a problem, they will provide help to you to solve the problem. The course curriculum was a bit outdated but from 2018 batch, the syllabus was revised and made more up to date. Subjects were added to make a student industry-ready.

90% of students get placed in our batch. The highest package is around 30 LPA (approximately) and Average package is 14 lacs. The lowest package is 6 lacs. Top recruiting companies were Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Goldmann Sachs, Oyo, De shaw, uber. 20% students got internships.

College Events

Just have fun with events alongside your academics because that's very important.Except swimming pool, every sport is entertained. Like basketball, football, cricket, tennis, tt. College has its own mountaineering wall and club.

Campus Life

Wi-Fi has good speed, all labs are working, Classrooms are good, and library facilities are good too. Hostel facilities are not so good, but it's average. Hostel fees is Rs. 25 per month. Every month you have to pay 1600-1800 for mess ( it depends on the cost of raw materials for cooking food).

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Heritage Law College is Lovely!!

Placement Experience:

Number of students who have been placed is far less than what it should be ideally. Kolkata is a paradise for law practice as it is the largest city of India and lawyers have always been in demand here. Still only 30% of the students are placed here and that's a big issue considering the name of our college.

Placement Experience:

Various companies come to this college for on campus placement Average package= 1000000 Highest package=2200000 Various multi national company and other big and small companies visit this college for on campus placement. Most of the students also get placement opportunities whether large or small package The opportunity is given to all degree whether it be bcom or bcom hons . Any student who does not get placed can easily use the degree to get a high paying off campus placements and to go to any good college or stay in this college for their post graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is backdated and should be improvised as it doesn't give any exposure of present industry knowledge. The frequency of exams is that exams are held after 6 months on semester basis and are easy to pass and majority of the students pass this semester easily.

Decent government college which needs to improve.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is obviously outdated and the knowledge we get through it, is bookish and does not apply to present industry methods. This way we are given no exposure to the real life industry knowledge. The exams are held on semester basis after every 6 months and are easy and manageable.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
