Remarks

Overall I have to say that this college provides learning in a good environment. The culture and the sheer profoundness of the college is good but the political involvement in my view could be a little less. The management is good and they try to keep a balance between the professors students staff and political parties.

Course Curriculum Overview

First and foremost the faculty members are great. They really help you to grow and learn. This college doesn't have geography so it's a rather calm and prestine environment. If you are going for English then they also provide Master's degree. Apart from English the microbiology department is also good. The exams are on semester basis. It follows the regulations of Calcutta university.

Placement Experience

1

You will not get any internship or placement from companies in here but if u learn well that wouldn't be a problem.

College Events

4.5

There are a lot of cultural event that takes place through out the year. The biggest ones are the college fest, which takes place in the winter and it's awesome. You can participate in many events like debate, singing, dancing, fashion show, etc. Even other colleges participates in this fest. Another one is welcoming party for the new students held by the college. Here you get to collaborate with your seniors and show your talent with the support of other students. Apart from these two you have Christmas, cricket tournaments, tennis tournaments, various meetings for social interactions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure are pretty feasible. You will get an transparent fee breakdown from the college. You can pay online or in cash but in the current circumstances I think the college will accept money online. After admission every year you have to pay in cash and you will be given a fees book to have proof of your payments.

Fees and Financial Aid

You have to talk with the principal about it as I don't have much knowledge in this area. You also contact with the political parties involved in the college.

Campus Life

The campus is pretty calm and soothing. There is a huge ground and the college looks absolutely fantastic in the winter. You can be a part of a debate team or some other indoor games team like table tennis. There are enough lab and lab equipments for practicals and they are good enough. There are no discrimination or racism on the basis of your colour, sex, religion or creed. There is a church and you can attend it but no one will force you to do anything.

Alumni/Alumna

There are alumni in this college but like most other colleges they pretty useless and not connected with the college.

Admission

First you need to go to St. Paul's Cathedral mission college's website. from there you will be able to fill up your form. Then wait till the merit list comes out. Don't panic if you can't get in the first few merit list. As per my knowledge there could be upto 6 merit lists. Once you get in the merit list you have to go for the councelling and then you will get your admission.

Faculty

4

There are approximately 5 faculty members apart from guest lecturers. The professors are well educated and they know how to teach. Many of them hold a PhD or a doctorate and some of the professors are also guest lecturers at Calcutta university itself.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.
