Remarks

Jadavpur university holds 17 th rank in NIRF ranking, it is the best institute in West Bengal after IIT Kharagpur and probably no institute can match Jadavpur university in terms of return of investment,with a nominal semester fees of 710 Rupees the average package for a CSE student over here is 20 LPA. Moreover it offers a considerable amount of freedom to students so they can pursue any Hobbies they want. Unlike other institutes in jadavpur university certain teachers do not impose any attendance restrictions.

Course Curriculum Overview

Jadavpur university has some of the most reputed teachers in India. Most of the present proffesors in IITs and NITs are alumnus of Jadavpur University. Metallurgical and materials engineering is a unique blend of key concepts of mechanical civil and chemical engineering. To add the material engineering is like a cherry on the cake which opens a whole new domain in research and development. Even after the economic setback several core companies visit our university.

100-150 companies visit every year. To bang a placement one needs prepare himself with the requisite company skills and Jadavpur university provides the best assistance in building that sort of skillset

College Events

Every year we 2 fests are organised. SRIJAN the tech fest and SANSKRITI the cultural fest. Apart from these every department has their own technical fest which is open to students from other departments too. The entrepreneurship club and the science club is very active. You will never find yourself short of activities here

Campus Life

Jadavpur university has a sprawling lush green campus. Actually it has two campuses one in Jadavpur itself another in salt lake. The one in Jadavpur has a large field used for playing cricket and football. There are several other courts for badminton,tennis, basketball. There are union rooms for indoor games like table tennis and carrom. Several other sports like rugby and karate are also pursued here. The university has a central library and each department has a separate department library. Each student at a time can take 5 books only, 2 from central library and 3 from department library.

1)From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement. 2) Cognizant , TCS(most fav), Wipro, startups, IBM visit for recruitment . 3)In 2023 highest was 45lpa by amazon average is 4.5lpa. 4)From our Hostel each and every senior get placed. some with good package like tcs digital, even off campus (2025). 5)My plan is to take a job and enter in IT firm to learn and teach new technolgies through my YOUTUBE.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

They always come forward to resolve our academic and nonacademic doubts. Their teaching methods are also good. we don't need to purchase any book, their notes are enough for our syllabus.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
