College with medium infrastructure & Good Faculty

It is a college situated far away from Kolkata so no one should ever expect frequent job opportunities like colleges of kolkata.But in terms of teaching quality & infrastructure it is quite good.Now its upto you.

I took admission through PGET exam where my rank was 5081. Though I prepared well for GATE in 2011 I couldn't qualify for just 1 no. My score was 30.5 where cutoff was 31.5. I decided to appear for PGET as I thought I already dropped a year after passing out B.Tech from B.C.Roy Engg College Durgapur, I shouldn't wait for another year which will make me more ineligible for any job opening.Now chosing this college is because of 2 reason.1st it was nearest form my Home compared to any other Engineering college. I live in Naihati, Kalyani is around 20km. 2nd reason is I heard that this college is sponsored by World Bank a huge amount of money called 'TEQIP Phase 1'.--that stands for Technical Education Quality Improvement Program which offers better infrastructure in every department, training & project works meets International trending technology, More experienced faculty recruitment & finally to give a monthly scholarship to selected Post Graduate students who have to work there as Technical Assistant with main faculty in Labs or giving guard in exams or sometimes to even teach if main faculty is not there.If I get selected I would get that money which will cover total fees of M.tech & I would also get 2yrs of Teaching Experience Certificate as well.As I have to go there for my own study everyday it is not at all a burden.rather we have any off period we won't be bored to just sit & wait.We can sit there in Teacher's Room also.We can use any computer at any lab wherever we want.Sitting with experienced teacher would help me to overcome any difficulty that I may face in future if I get selected in any college as full time Asst. Professor. Lastly 1 of my school friend who was our topper as well did M.tech there who said the faculties are quite helpful & knowledgeable.So, I chose it.

Standard course of M.tech in CSE includes Discrete Structure, Design & Analysis of Algorithm, Computer Network & Distributed system, Operating Systems, & 1 elective to chose.In 2nd sem there was Advanced Mathematics, Advanced Computer Architecture, Advanced DBMS, Software Engineering, & Elective II, In 3rd Sem there was Mobile Computing Multimedia & Graphics After that Project work.Grand Viva & final presentation.

I already told that earlier. Working as Teaching Asst under TEQIP phase 2. We got 8000 rs monthly & after completion I got an Experience Certificate as well.

The thing is M.tech students doesn't get that much of opportunities in any IT companies over B.techs, Cause in company's perspective the training that is required to know everything about the company, without it B.Tech & M.tech(fresher) are almost equal, cause traditional knowledge that a student get in college life may be of no use for that company.They have to learn everything at the training, So why should a company recruit a M.Tech fresher & give them more salary than B.techs as they have this masters degree.and another thing is After M.tech there are lot more dimensions are opened like teching profession or applying for PHD etc.I cant say how much B.techs are offered.How far I heard from some of my students they said its not that good now.Very few companies are coming.Opportunity is very less.1day I saw there is Strike going on for campussing issues.So.its complicated.

I didn't participated in any events that much.how far I can remember there was a blood donation camp organised, There is a Hanuman temple inside the premises.where a puja was organised, There was sports events as well, And like every college Fresher's Welcome, Fest, etc were also organised.

I told earlier that I got monthly scholarship for TEQIP Phase II being a Asst. Teacher.So I got total fees back.Semester fees are around 40k for M.techs, I dont know about B.techs.

No, As I said earlier I got almost total money back from stipend I never applied or asked for loan from college.However how far I know there is Tie up with Punjab National Bank of Kachrapara branch that offers easy education loans for any student willing to get admission.

I didn't participated in any event organised in college.None of my batchmates also participated in anything.there is a big play ground surrounded by wall just beside Kalyani Express Way where many Inter college or Intra college sports like football, Cricket, Volleyball, Discuss throw etc were organised. Overall the environment was good, quite enjoyable.

I used to go to college in my bike or sometimes in Train, It was around 20 km from my home.I never needed to stay there.there are 2 large hostels for both boys & girl just opposite of main buildings.After study leave When I went to college to give the final project submission I saw 2 new buildings are about to built at adjacent land. The food are good at canteen, Canteen is well decorated & varieties of food are available, There is water cooler machine there as well.

Not that much.We have 2 facebook & whatsapp groups for our batch, And in I am a member of official FB page of college where I dont show any activity that much, I have contact with just 4 of my seniors from our previous batch.However our next batch's juniors are much attached with me, I have good contact with almost all of them.

This college is affiliated to WBUT, so semester exam are pre-scheduled.About unit tests or internal there is normal procedure, nothing new about that, Teachers gave question papers, We wrote answer, thats it.

The faculties were very good, Senior Professor are highly Experiences & knowledgeable.& junior professors are very good as well.most of them were doing PHD from different Universities Like Kalyani, Yadavpur, Shibpur. According to me best teacher was Nilanjan Dey. He have around 200 journals, Papers.He was a visiting faculty at Colombia University.And our HOD SSG sir.I haven't saw any HODs are that much knowledgeable. However both of them are not there now.Overall it was a decent group of faculties.
