The Best Three Years of My Life

It is a 3 year course. The entire course is divided in 6 semesters.The syllabus includes History of English Literature, European Classical Literature, British Poetry and Drama,Women's writing, Post Colonial Literature and much more. The syllabus is compact and covers almost all the areas of World English Literature.

We had some of the best companies coming to our colleges for placements.Companies like WIPRO, J.W. Marriott, Tata Consultancy Services offered job oppurtunities to us. Many of my friends even got jobs in such companies. We even had a career counselling cell where students are guided about interviews and aptitide tests.

Various events like Saraswati Puja, Independence Day, Republic Day, Calcutta University Foundation Day and College Foundation Day are some of the events which were enthusiastically celebrated. The newcomers also receive a very good 'Freshers' and the final year students also get their 'Farewell'.

We had to pay Rs1965 per semester. This fee includes the tuition fee, library fee, infrastructure fee and even C.U exam fees. This amount can easily be paid by both the middle class and the lower class families. For further benefit our college also offers scholarships to able students.

Our college provides many scholarships. But, only students with intelligence and students who work hard are provided with scholarships. Even various Govt. sponsored scholarships were also provided to the students.

We had many extracurricular activities. Various games and events were organised by the college seniors every year. We had a clean and green surrounding. The classrooms are spacious.The labs were well maintained. Our NCC AND NSS sections were very active.They organised events almost every year.

I chose this college because it is quite a good govt.sponsered college in Howrah. The admission procedure is of two stages. I had to fill a online application form wherein I had to put in all my documents and marks of my higher secondary and secondary exams. After that, the merit list was uploaded on the college website and I found my name on the 1st merit list itself. Next, the selected students were called in for counselling. I was later granted admission.

Our Professors were highly qualified and extremely student friendly. They taught us with depth and clarity. We had interactive classes where every student were given opputunity to express their opinions. Professors also provided us with abundant study materials which helped us in our exams.
