Seth Soorajmull Jalan Girl’s College is a private degree college in West Bengal. It is managed by Seth Soorajmull Jalan Trust which was established on 15^th August, 1938 on the auspicious occasion of India’s Independence Day. Throughout its existence, the institution has fostered the growth of humanitarian services, especially in the field of women empowerment, education and their economic development. The institution is committed towards bringing in a positive change for women in the society across all social classes. Dislikes

Strict with attendance... They don't entertain taking offs even in emergencies
They don't provide online classes and everything is done in physical classes

Admission:

The admission process under Calcutta University is carried out via wb portal in which you can apply for all the interested colleges and you get alloted in any one of them as per your marks and other criteria .. Getting into Jalan was my 3rd prefered college other than this I had appeared for Cuet but I couldn't pursue my degree there because of my parents as they don't consider Delhi a safe option... Then I had options to go to private colleges under CU but pursuing bcom in any private colleges or government college doesn't really make any difference so I selected Jalan college ... It was also prefered as it is all girls college

The admission process was done online The application dates are for 15 days, the application form and fees are done online, The university exam done in every 6 months before that we have to prepare for internals

Students were well mannered also they provide every practical facility required for the study

Dislikes

The infrastructure was really poor were with benches and fan aging to stone age
Campus area was really small and canteen food was not healthy

Admission:

The admission process was smooth and frustating at the same time. Everyone who passed their higher secondry in commerce field were eligible for admission. We need to personally collect admission form from college which cost around Rs 200 and these college have a period of atleast 3 month after higher secondry result declaration for admission. The admission fee was Rs10000 for this course and alter as we change to other courses. The reservation benefits were restricted only to fee concession as the reserved category paid less fee.No category wise admission were there. There was no such entrance exam required for this as admission were open after the admission window is closed.

The college really doesn't have campus. The infrastructure is not very good
The office system in the college goes very slow. It takes much time for some actions

Admission:

There is no entrance fee in the college admission. People can get directly admission from the college website by filling it's form. The admission will be given on the basis on merit and provisional list given by the college

It is the best place if you are not someone who is in to co curricular activities

Dislikes

Absence of exposure of real world, in terms of personality development
there were no social or co curricular activities encouraged by the college

Admission:

The admission process was easy, I had to pick the form from the college premises itself fill it up and shared the details fees was paid and the admission was confirmed. The admission process was quite easy and the admin was supportive too and helped each candidate facing issues.

According to me Class rooms and entire campus is like school. So everything is ok not bad but there is nothing to enjoy.

Admission:

No admission process is good. Every thing is mentioned in the college website if any problem one can contact the helpline no. Provided there. Nothing is there to be improved in the admission process.

I have to think alot about is there anything to like but yeah only the terrace area where they have rain water storage tank up there.

Dislikes

The campus interior of the college (looks like an old building).
The untidiness of the classrooms. No one care even after writing complaints.

Admission:

60% in required field. With no entrance exams. Got the online application form and everything for admission on the college website. I want college website to provide more information and course details, etc on the website.

Very good and safe environment for girls

Admission:

The admission process was great and the staff helped a lot. Counseling teachers were very helpful, they helped answer our queries. Jalan college helps you even with your notes. The environment of our college was great indeed. There are many departments in Jalan college.

Admission:

As college provide a better quality of knowledge. Bad aspect is that this college totally like a school as the time of this college is maximum morning time i.e from 6 am to 1:30 pm.
