Course Curriculum Overview

In the duration of three years, a lot of emphasis is given on the research and debate part. We were taught contemporary and traditional era as well as the notions of Feminism. The schedule was quite chill .

Placement Experience

The placements of the college are average. Few companies like Flipkart visit and recruit students. The career counseling cell helps students with basic interview structure and formats. There is a scope of improvement.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The first year fees for the History course is Rs 3280 and its very feasible if we compare it with other colleges. The quality of education with such minimal fees is quite well for anyone saving money for masters.

Campus Life

There are online quizzes, case studies and competitions that the college takes part in. All the festivals are celebrated with zest and enthusiasm. There is no tolerance for bullying at all in the premises.

Admission

Admission is solely based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations of class 12th and the criteria is different for masters programme. I always had an interest in history that's why i pursued it.

Faculty

The teachers and other staff members of the history department were the nicest of the lot. They are so professional when it came to teach us and hardly took any leave. They taught us through debates and discussions.

GO FOR IT!!

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

The placements in our college is decent. The average salary package a student used to get from our college was around 4lakhs to 5 lakhs per annum. Mainly they used to bring non IT companies to the IT students. It was rare that IT companies used to comer in bulk.

This is the oldest Pharmacy college in India

Remarks:

The college is a good college it is situated beside the district hospital and there is morgue beside it. So students will se many dead bodies been taken. This may be problem for weak heart students. But I thing for a pharmacists he/she should be able to see dead bodies.

Remarks:

Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri is the 1st Pharmacy college in Asia. This is the only one government college in West Bengal. Labs infrastructure is very poor. 100% Placement are done. Our college is very good Pharmacy college in India.
