Course Curriculum Overview

My course was a three-year undergraduate course. We were given our certificate and are affiliated to Calcutta University. The course was very hands-on that applied the theory into practice. It wasn't very hectic, but it was quite intense sometimes.

Placement Experience

Our college placement cells offer us so much guidance like career counselling and many others. We also have companies coming in for recuritment. Some major companies are Axis Bank, ITC, JW Marriott, Marriott hotels, Spicejet, TCS, and Wipro.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My course fees was quite feasible, as i only had to pay 6,565 rupees totally. There were some additional fees like admission fees and exam fees that needed to be paid before exams. Either way the fees were quite practical considering the experience we got.

Campus Life

The college has many clubs you can join. We also had industrial visits or study tours. They also celebrated indian festivals and functions like annual day. We also had the NSS and the NCC who arranged for many activities for the students.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is just near the college campus and is in a walking distance. The students can avail hostel services purely based on their necessity. Not everyone will get access to the hostels but the out of station students will get one. They have good facilities that would be necessary for us.

Admission

The course admission was merit-based. It demanded that we pass 12th standard. Other than that the admission process was pretty simple. i just applied by going to the college reception and submitting the application with copies of my certificates.

Faculty

The faculty at our department were very welcoming and kind. They made us feel comfortable and made sure that we understood what was being taken. They also made sure they were available to us as our course can be a bit overwhelming sometimes.

GO FOR IT!!

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college is decent. The average salary package a student used to get from our college was around 4lakhs to 5 lakhs per annum. Mainly they used to bring non IT companies to the IT students. It was rare that IT companies used to comer in bulk.

Placement are not so good but I can confirm you that if you are good in studies then you will have a min package of 50LPA .Every pharma companies in india or out india contains our alumnis as well as you will get a polite and respectful behaviour in every company after knowing you r passed out from Iopj .

This is the oldest Pharmacy college in India

Remarks:

The college is a good college it is situated beside the district hospital and there is morgue beside it. So students will se many dead bodies been taken. This may be problem for weak heart students. But I thing for a pharmacists he/she should be able to see dead bodies.

Remarks:

Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri is the 1st Pharmacy college in Asia. This is the only one government college in West Bengal. Labs infrastructure is very poor. 100% Placement are done. Our college is very good Pharmacy college in India.

By WBJEE or AIEEE exam you have got a rank for admission in this college.There are 3 concealing process by the wbjee rank card. Then you have to varify your document in reporting centre , after that you go to the college for the admission.
