Remarks
College was very good, environment and infrastructure was good, faculty was also OK, i feel the college mostly needs improvement in managing its facilities, the college administration lacks the insights as if they want i feel the college can be best among the colleges in Delhi. Its supported by the state yet the administration is passive and not active.
Entrance Preview
I took GATE-2012 and based on its rank got admission. I scored around 97 percentile. I choose this college because of the course it offered and its easy accessibility from my home.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course included the advanced topics which we studied in B.Tech. Apart from these the term papers and research papers added to the practical knowledge. The other courses like cyber security were good and to the knowledge base.
Internships Opportunities
I didn't had internship but we had thesis work in M.Tech. The thesis work was indeed based upon the research papers we write. We were offered Rs.8000 per month as part of GATE scholarship at that time. This amount has been increased by the govt. now.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are not much for M.Tech students. Only few companies allowed us to sit for placement exam and they too were not offering decent packages. I think placement opportunity outside of college are better for meritorious students of MTech. They can get much better package than what is offered at the time of placement in college.
College Events
We had a good college fest which had all of the technical and cultural events. Apart from this there was not much fanfare. Some trips were organised by students but these trips were mostly funded by students only.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It being a govt. institute the fee was very modest. You will be saving money rather than spending as the scholarship which we got was enough to cover the expenditure.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't know about any scholarship offered by college, scholarship was offered by HRD for GATE students. For loans also no such special provisions were there.
Campus Life
The college was good in these social aspects, students were spared enough time to participate in sports and extracurricular activities but mostly they have to arrange for competitions themselves college administration was not much focussed on these. College had a big ground which students used for hockey, cricket and football. Sports room was also there which issued sports equipments.
Hostel Facilities
The college didn, t had the hostel which i feel is a big letdown. The students used to stay in PG's in the area which were affordable. The nearby locality was not that good in terms of living standards but some distance away you can find good enough PG's or Flats. Average rental for PG was around 5000.
Alumni/Alumna
College seniors were approachable and good. They were there mostly to guide you and help you out. I feel B.Tech seniors were more lively than those of M.Tech as they used to do most of the chit chats but ours were more focussed on studies and job. I don't know if they are part of any active group or network.
Exam Structure
Exams and labs were not hectic. It followed IP university structure which i feel is not hectic. Only during semester exams we felt some pressure as not much gap was there between exams but rest internal exams were good enough.
Faculty
Faculty was good. They provided us enough leeway to develop ourself on our own. They also helped in the studies if we are stuck somewhere. The classes were flexible and were usually fun.
