Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus for the Nautical Science is drafted perpetually by the faculty members and it mostly contains practical training rather than bookish learning. This curriculum helps students like me to be a good merchant navy officer by covering all the important topics.

Placement Experience

Most students from my department are placed in good and highly reputed companies through the annual placement event. Apart from that mandatory internships are also provided to students so that they cam learn and gain experience.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Training Ship Rahaman provides its students with good quality education and training to its students so the fee structure is quite expensive. The tuition fee for the course costs around Rs 285000 per year and college also provides loan facilities and scholarships to students who deserve it.

Campus Life

Our college is famous for providing various facilities to students which they can avail of for their benefits. Facilities such as Clean Hostels, Swimming Pool, Sports Playground, Marine Museum, etc are present on the campus for the students.

Admission

To seek admission to the university you gave to visit the official website and fill the admission form with your marks in Class 10 and 12 marks. After that, if you are selected on the admission list you have to appear on the campus to provide your medical test and if you are fit you will get a seat in the college.

Faculty members of my university are highly trained and very accomplished teachers. They provide good learning to students with the help of various examples and case studies so that we can understand the concept well. Also, they are very strict and maintain discipline in the department.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after the 4th sem. Many companies visit and at least one person is hired by every company. Companies from UAE and international companies also make offers. Highest package was 9 lpa and average is 3.5-4 lpa. Only 5-10% students go for a job, others go for higher studies. I am too looking for a part time job with continuing higher studies. Overall the campus placement is good for students looking for a good job and pay. Most get hired as Assistant engineers.

Microbiology is mainly lab based work but it also teaches you other worldly things , the reason behind me choosing Bsc microbiology to do from ruia is because , once i had a talk to an alumni of ruia in which she mentioned that microbiology from ruia is basucally equal of engineering from an IIT. Teachers are very nice, hostel and food is awesome. Hostel is compulsory for everyone. There is a exam taken by IMU(INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY), You have score a good rank to get this college. It's one of the oldest college and know for its discipline, and also there is a nearby port where we keep visiting. The fees includes everything right from hostel fees, uniform and food. The college is a merchant navy. Prior to admission, the shipping company selects almost all students in the DNS course.
