Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very well structured and you will get a lot of practical exposure during your time in the college. There are a lot of assignments and projects given to the students and the exams are held semester wise.

Placement Experience

Since it only offers fisheries course. There are literally no placement for the students. The students on the other hand are prepared by the institution for mock interviews and for work later in life.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is feasible. I have to pay about 11000 for one year. And for 3 years it's about 35000 something including the examination and the maintainence fees. The fees for Hostel is separated from this fees.

Campus Life

There are a lot of extra curricular activities and Competitions organised by the college for the students. The college also conducts workshop, seminars and conferences. There are a lot of sports tournaments as well.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is decent. They have all the required Facilities. You get 24/7 of water and Electricity supply. The rooms are good with bathrooms and you can live on sharing of double or triple. The food is also served by the mess.

Admission

The admission process for the college is completely merit based. it is usually on the basis of your 12th standard marks in some particular subjects. You first have to fill the application form for admission.

Faculty

The faculty of the college is good. They are qualified and have a lot of work experience in their respective fields. They are very supportive and understanding and are always ready to help the students.

Good college

Placement Experience:

They have some plans like grouping based on the p skill level completion they will short us in groups. The groups are divided into 4 types. Group 1,2,3,4. Group 1 student get 8 lpa placement offers. Group 2 students get 6 to 8 lpa placement offers. Group 3 students have 3 to 6 lpa placement offers. And group 4 get less than 3 lpa placement offers.

Placements was slightly better than other colleges, but students need to prepare little bit more for placements. Becayse they give only essential trainings. Above 60% in SSLC, HSC, B.E students prefered for the placements by institution. I have attend three companies and I got offer in third interview.

Remarks:

LIBA is located in the heart of Chennai, unlike many other colleges which are quite far away from the city. I had applied for engineering, agri, veterinary and fisheries. I desired to be an veterinarian and my second go to option was engineering. I didn't prefer agri. During counseling process, i couldn't place in the veterinary so i chose engineering in chennai. I studied engineering for 2 months. Then I came to know about the counseling of fisheries stream. When i went to search about fisheries. I was amazed and surprised about this sector. Prior to this i didn't know much about this stream. This made me to discontinue my engineering and made me to purse my career in fisheries. My coutoff was not enough to be an veterinarian (my cutoff -190.5). The admission for fisheries is pretty much similar to agri stream. The eligibile subjects are Maths- biology and pure science groups. The admission process is through counselling.
