Siddhant Gupta's Review On Rajiv Gandhi National University Of Law - [RGNUL], Patiala

CLAT I scored 121/200.I chose RGNUL since it boasted of highly qualified faculty and it was close to my native town.

The course in the first six semesters comprises of both legal and social sciences subjects. The social sciences subjects are divided into major and minor subjects wherein one is supposed to take 1 major and 2 minor subjects.

The internship experience is satisfying and quite enriching. The students go in for different commissions, law firms, senior advocates, judges etc. for internship.Stipend depends from person to person.

Placements are quite good.Different law firms auch as Amarchand Mangaldas, Jyoti Sagar Associates, Wadia Ghandy, LakshmiKumaran Sridharan, LPO's, Nationalised Banks etc. The packages range from 6-13 Lakhs per annum.

College celebrates all the national festivals amd otber important festivals such as Holi, Dussehra, Baisakhi etc. The college also organizes different events on occasions such as Teacher's Day, Children's Day, Law Day.

The fees(including tuition fees, hostel fees, mess fees, etc. ) is to be paid every semester and totals upto 1.75 Lakh per annum. Overall the fee structure is on the same lines as other NLU's.

The facility of educational loan is available in the bank provided in the college premises. There are certain scholarships available for SC/ST Students.

The extra curricular activities such as mooting, debates, etc. is very prominent and the sports culture is brilliant.There is no discrimination on basos of any aspect and the college atmosphere is peaceful.

Mosf of the seniors are quite helpful and the alumni network ia slowly catching up which is acting as a stepping stone for recruitment purposes in different law firms and other organizations.

The exams being six in number every semester commprises of mid semesters and end semesters. Both are conducted once in a semester. Mid semesters carry 20 marks to the overall tally and end semesters which include projects, vivas carry 80 marks.

The faculty comprises of both associate and assistant professors. For the major and minor subjects there are specialized teachers and for the specialization subjects the faculty is the best among the lot. Overall the faculty is good.
