Course Curriculum Overview

4

The specific aspects of our curriculum contain 2 joint integrated courses the BA and LLB, so from starting I was interested in pursuing law, and the BALLB course stood perfect for me. The curriculum at our university is well designed which teaches the students not only the theoretical aspects but also trains them for the practical aspects of the world, for instance, the curriculum contains subjects like Moot Court Research, and Judicial System ethics which hone the students with their practical skills. The course curriula is great but needs minimal changes as the professor should be provided more autonomy to attach extra-curricular aspects to the course which makes the reading of law more engaging. Further, the timings of examinations as per the course curricula are perfect which provides sufficient time for the students to prepare for their exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship opportunities provided at our university are great and the same can be credited to the internship and placement cell of the university, containing both faculties as well as the students who perform their work diligently and try to provide intended internship opportunities to the students at various lawyers chambers and the firms. In furtherance of same the students who are in their 4th and 5th year of college are exempted from the mandatory requirement of attendance, hence providing them more opportunities to intern and gain practical knowledge. Talking about the internship experience it is very crucial for a law student where he can gain the practical aspects and apply them to the theoretical knowledge learned in his college. During the internship, the students are provided with various roles like drafting documents, interacting with the clients, forming case briefs, researching the case, and helping the seniors. However, the interns are not provided a stipend in their initial college years, but when they start interning under various prestigious firms in their fourth and fifth years they get a handsome stipend.

Placement Experience

4

The Placements at RGNUL are great and increasing, and the same can be attributed to the internship and placement cell of the university, which is doing exceptionally well in this field. The students who are in their 5th Year of their course become eligible for the placement drive which happens at the RGNUL, while some students also bag PPOs from various prestigious firms and companies in their fifth and fourth year. The current placement stats for the batch that passed out in 2024, recorded good placements ranging with around 50 students getting placed, almost 40 per cent of the batch, in firms like Trilegal, Khaitan&Co, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Ernest&Young, KPMG etc. and around 10 bagging scholarships from International Universities. Talking about the highest package the same ranged between 18-19 lakhs per annum and the average package ranged from 10-12 lakhs per annum. The same motivates me also and I am further looking for a corporate placement from the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees needed to be paid per year are around 2.75 lakhs to 3 lakhs, which can be further bifurcated as the tuition fees are 90,000, the development fund is 10,000, the moot court and library fees are 3000 and 5000, the gym and other miscellaneous fees are 10,000, the hostel fees are of 40,000, and the mess fees is around 48,000 per year. The total fees must be paid in 2 slots, one in January and the other in July. There are no sort of compulsory charges, Talking about the scholarships there are various scholarships offered by the university like the merit and financial scholarships offered to the students where their whole tuition fees are reimbursed, while there are other scholarships also like the central scholarship for SC and STs where there half fees is refunded. There are state-specific scholarships also accepted in RGNUL, such as the Medhavi Scholarship given to the students of Madhya Pradesh Students only. Hence the fees is somewhat high at RGNUL, but there are ample options, that can be availed even if you are financially unstable

Campus Life

4

The social life at campus is great, with your batchmates being very helpful to you and working as your best friend as well as guiding you through the various paths of life, moreover, the seniors are also great in the same aspect. The RGNUL campus life is great in other aspects also such as there are conduction of various annual festivals in RGNUL such as the yearly sports fest of RGNUL known as Zelus which is held in March and various NLU participates in it, moreover, are other parties and acitices like the freshers parties for the upcoming batch, the farewell party to the outgoing batch the intra university penta league etc. Moreover, there are other co-curricular activities also like the Intra University Moot court, debate, meditation, and client counselling competitions. Talking about the infrastructure there is a foremost symbol of it in our library which contains various books and access to journals offline as well as online such as Sage, JSTOR, Willey, etc. The same goes with classrooms which are digitised and spacious and contain enough space for the conduction of activities by various clubs such as the Centre of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Moot Court Committee.

Hostel Facilities

3

The Hostel at RGNUL is newly built and great in condition, where it contains good spacious rooms for the students. The students in their first year are provided a double sharing room till up to their third year. While from 4th year. the students are provided single sharing room, further the hostel contains various other facilities like the automatic censored bathroom The playing area the rooftop etc. Talking about the mess facilities The food quality is ok but not as good as expected, further, there is some lackadaisical approach from the side of the contractor, though the food is provided four times a day with a variety of range, but the quality is not as good as expected. The hostel is allotted to the students once they enter the college and the students are also provided with the opportunity to change their room within 14 days if they are not comfortable with their roommate. Overall the money provided for a hostel is legitimately expected but the money provided for the mass in comparison to its quality is unreasonable

Admission

The choosing of RGNUL, was the result of CLAT examination counselling, as after taking CLAT, based on my rank I was having the opportunity to select the RGNUL or NLU Patna, but RGNUL was chosen by me because of its previous establishment and more placement opportunities in comparison to the NLU Patna. Though RGNUL cannot be said a dream college of mine, because I wanted to be admitted to NLU Bhopal, which was close to my house, due to insufficient CLAT Rank I was not able to be admitted at NLU Bhopal. Talking about the admission process at RGNUL the same is done through the CLAT counselling process where after giving the National Level entrance exam of CLAT, you are allotted various NLU's based on your rank and on the same lines RGNUL is allotted to the students nationally based on their specific rank

Faculty

5

The faculty at our university is great, intellectual, and student-friendly. Most of the Faculty are alumni of renowned institutions like Oxford University, Harvard Law School, Leiden University, and reputed NLU's. The faculty student ratio is basically medium with 1:70 and the faculty not just behave as our professors but also our mentors, helping us to make the full out of our educational studies. All the faculties at our University are highly intellectual as well as lucid in their nature, naming some of them like Ms Aditi Dubey, who teaches Pol. Science to the First-Year Students and Mr. Saurabh Sharma, who teaches international law and contract law to the students. Further, discussing about the exam structure, the same is divided into 10 semesters containing 2 exams in each semester i.e. endsems and the midsems, the difficulty level of the exam is not very difficult and the same can be pertained to the curricula adopted in our university which is not much complicated and most of the study material can be easily found online. Furthermore, if you are having your basics clear then you can clear the exam easily, by just studying before a week of exams. Moreover, due to the easy level of difficulty with exams, only 7-8 students from the 180 students batch fails every year.

Night Life

3

The RGNUL campus contains various other everyday facilities with an in-built GYM campus having all important accessories for keeping your mental and physical health intact, further, the university contains facility area containing all necessary accessories a student may need such as the general goods store, the juicing facility, the stationary shops, the ATM, etc. Moreover, the in-out timing for a hostel is not strict with up to 2 AM out time allowed, though there is a bar of 8 PM from going outside the campus or coming inside from outside after the scheduled timings

Around 60% students only gets direct placements from our college as ratio I hope gets better because as a top tier NLU i still feel the placements are still not that great. I hope that by the time our time comes ratio is 100% because after the judgement of 3 years practice for judiciary, I think it is inevitable to have a job.
