Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is designed according to the students. In first year, there are majorly BA subjects and 1-2 law subjects. In second year, law subjects increases but BA subjects are also there. Rgnul has semester system. Two exams happens every semester- mid sems and end sems.

Internships Opportunities

3

We have a internship cell in our college which is very active. I personally have not opted for an internship via the internship cell but do notify you about all the intersection opportunities they have. The internship can be under a lawyer in district court or high court or coperate law firms also.

Placement Experience

3

Our college does provide placement, it has a good placement cell. Not a lot of student opt for placements but among the one who does, 65% does get placed. Mostly student opt for further studies or judiciary. Our college is known to have a great judiciary culture and I'm also going to pursue judiciary, so I think it's great for me.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is 219000 per year, the mess fee is 40000 per year and the hostel fee is 40000 pery year. In total it is 2,99,000 per year. The fee is same for everyone except the foreign nationals. College does give you few concession if you can't afford the fee. The scholarship are not provided as such by the college it's just the government scholarship you can apply you and college also encourages you to do so and even provide you with notification regarding other scholarship opportunities.

Campus Life

5

The major event that is held in our college is the infamous ZELUS, which is our annual sports fest. Other than this, many parties and celebrations does take place time to time. We also have a lot of competitions happening month to month. The college life is happening and at the same time is not happening. Inter batch sports league is also held in our college, which a great way of interacting with your seniors.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostels are the USP of RGNUL. There are 6 buildings for boys and 5 buildings for girls ( 6th one is under construction). The fee is 40000 per year which is 20000 per semester. You're alloted a double occupancy for 1st to 3rd year and single occupancy for 4th and 5th year. The rooms are quite spacious and has enough room for all your things. And also you have ACs in your room and Geysers in bathroom. The mess food is good. It's way better than mess food in other colleges.

Admission

RGNUL has always been my top preference as it is the only NLU in Punjab. Since it's an NLU, you have to give CLAT exam and get a rank between 500-1300. For SC it is 4k-8k, for ST 9k-15k. The reason I wanted to get into RGNUL is because of it's hostels as it's their USP. You gotta live there for 5 years, living space should be good.

Faculty

5

The faculty is really nice and really experience in their field of study. They're professional and very approachable. If you have any doubt you can approach them in their office during their office hours or approach them via mail whenever.

Night Life

3

The campus in timings are 8pm, since the campus is way out of the city, for the safety of students the timings are kept a bit early comparitively to other colleges. The hostels in time is 2 am and library reading halls timings are 1:45 am. The nightlife is not much since the campus in timings are very early. But you can walk around in the campus, sit with your friends and chat or play.

Around 60% students only gets direct placements from our college as ratio I hope gets better because as a top tier NLU i still feel the placements are still not that great. I hope that by the time our time comes ratio is 100% because after the judgement of 3 years practice for judiciary, I think it is inevitable to have a job.

Khaitan & Co., Maheshwari and Co and likewise many such companies came for placements as it's the law firm that provides us placements and give good salary like 50-70k in general. However, internships matters a lot as most students performance at their internships are reviewed thoroughly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college is highly affordable with not much hike in the fees over the past years. It is quite near to my house and within the city. The college provides hostel facilities and bus pass to students travelling from far The course makes you legal literate and aware of the legal world . With 15-20days of internship in district court in last 2 years of the college it shows the reality of the court life. No placement- The college should provide information along with opportunities of placements. The campus being quite small - Teacher easily focuses on each student . Semester system- The university conducts exams every 6months yhat are quite easy to clear.
