The post graduate students can do six months project work at the Institute. Limited bench space is available for undertaking project work as a part of post-graduate degree. Institute organizes regular training programs in cultivation of MAPs, processing of Herbals, Floriculture, Tissue Culture and Tea.

In this Institution, there is no placement as such. Students can apply for jobs through online and advertisements. Most of the students are requested to attend various walk-in interviews and work in different projects as a Project scientist.

The institute has well equipped laboratories for researchers and scholars for advanced research aspects. The campus has cafeteria facilities for the students and staff which serves good quality food.

The college provides hostel facilities for both the genders. It provides all the basic amenities including cupboards, table, chair, bed and mattress. A well working mess takes care of the food requirements of scholars. The hostel is housed with all recreational facilities like TV room, table tennis, cricket, badminton court, cafeteria, guest room, mess, playground. The cafeteria serves hygienic food.

Alumni in IHBT get along every year and celebrate their homecoming, cut cakes and enjoy their day. And the seniors also help the juniors by providing necessary books for reference and help them in their studies as they have a better knowledge about the course. They serve as resource persons in seminars, guest lectures arranged in different departments.

Admissions to Ph.D. programs are conducted twice a year. The application form will be available on the official website. The candidate has to visit the official website of IHBT and register and submit the application form with all the required details and take a print out of the Acknowledgement of Admission Receipt along with a unique form number and has to keep the receipt for further use.

The Faculty of our college is divided into Administrative, Technical and Scientists. Unlike administrative and technical staffs, scientists have a hierarchy which consists of a director, chief scientist etc. Every staff is divided into different divisions based on their findings.
