My journey with Sikkim university

The course curriculum at my university is vast and based on the latest syllabus. The annual exam takes place after every semester. Generally, there are four exams or tests in a semester, it means that three tests and on annual exam. The university takes the best of two from the three tests.

The placement of my university is good. Many students were placed in good companies with decent packages. Generally, there is no placement or training cell in my college. All the things related to the placement is done by the department.

The fees in by college are very less. I have paid about Rs. 7000 for the first year and Rs. 2000 for the second year which makes a total of Rs. 9000 for a course of two years. These figures are affordable do everyone.

There are many extracurricular activities in my college such as cultural fest, sports feat, educational workshops and many other. Students participate in these fests to get knowledge apart from academics and to showcase their talent. They also tend to make new friends from different departments.

I have opted for hostels. The infrastructure of the hostel is very good. A mess is also available inside the hostel. You have to pay two months fees of the mess. There are one-seater, two-seaters, three-seater and four-seater hostel rooms are available. You can choose between any of them. At my time, I lived in 4 seater room which costs me about Rs. 7000.

I got direct admission to the college. I just showed my 12th mark sheet and I got admission in my course. Generally, the university needs at least 45% in 12th class as the standard criteria for all the course. But you also have to fill an admission form and you have to pay Rs. 200 for it.

The faculty of my college is very knowledgeable and helpful. The teachers provide us with all the necessary study material for the subject. In a department, there are six permanent faculties and a Head of the Department. There are also two guest lecturers.
