Minakshi's Review On Senate Of Serampore College (University), Serampore

The complete course is of 3 years. Each year is divided into 2 semesters. The courses here are quite hard but very standard. The classes are held regularly. The lessons are taught both based on theories and practicals.

The college does not provide placements. It is also a well known fact these days that UG level degree cannot provide you with a good job. So students opt for PG. After PG there are quite good placements in our college. The students are given the required skills, training and knowledge to get themselves placed in a good job.

There are so many events celebrated in the college throughout the year. Cultural events like holi and many other festivals are celebrated. The events are conducted on a grand scale and a large number of students participate. Many VIPs are also invited.

The fee here is very low. The education here is very affordable. The tuition fee was just around 10,000 rupees for my course when I joined. This helps even students from poor economic background get high quality education.

The college has different loans and scholarship facilities. You could apply for scholarships issued by the government or from different private organisations. The college also has separate special loans for women and scheduled tribes and scheduled caste students.

There are many sports events held in our college every year. Students are highly encouraged to take part in sports irrespective of their gender. Extracurricular activities like dance, arts are also very much supported in the college and there are respective clubs as well.

After my 10+2, i decided to do B.A. My intermediate grades were decent enough to find myself a good admission. Then admission forms were released and I filled them accordingly. after a few days I was informed that based on my merit, I was allotted Senate of Serampore College for admission.

The faculty here is really good and highly qualified. They are quite strict in college hours but other times they are very friendly. The help us with our queries. They are available for us throughout the day to help us in any means. Faculty help us so much during our exam times.
