Chandernagore College was established in 1862 by the French colonial government as a primary school; it was re-established in 1931 as one of the oldest institutes in west Bengal district Hooghly. It is affiliated to the University of Burdwan.

- Hostel facilities - Hostel facilities for Girls are available at the Chandernagore college. Situated within the campus area only it has capacity for 36 students.
