Remarks

XL culture or XL bonding is what makes XLRI stand out from the rest of the B-schools. A small batch size ensures that everybody knows almost everybody else. XLRI unsurprisingly always has a healthy gender ratio which many other B-schools are trying to achieve with special efforts. The diversity results in creativity and provides whole new perspective to all the student initiatives.

Entrance Preview

GMAT -710 CAT 98.3 Seemed good value for money. Other course that I got at one of the lower grade IIMs was of 2 year duration. This course seemed be apt for me as I had relevant experience.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The faculty were supportive and always available. The bunch of classmates came from diverse background, so that enhanced the learning. There comes a time in almost everyoneメs professional life when one feels he/she has reached a plateau. No more mountains to conquer, and the job becomes less challenging and more monotonous. And thatメs when we start thinking about a change ヨ either a change in the role, a change in the organization or a complete career overhaul. Such changes is what the course catered to

Internships Opportunities

The MBA programme was divided into 4 semesters. The first two semesters were common for all the candidates and remaining two includes electives, project works and international immersion programme. We went to AIM manila wher we were given an internship with Lafarge Philippines. The exp was extremely useful in shaping our thoughts

Placement Experience

5

The reason why students (well, most of them!) join MBA. Placements at XLRI have been great over the years.Despite the locational disadvantage, XLRI is the preferred choice of recruiters.in my batch almost all were placed, The ones who didnt, it was by choice as they wanted to pursue entrepreneurial initiatives.

College Events

4.5

There are regular interaction between students and faculty in XL Utsav and dinners by Regional Committees. Regional committee dinners are special regional nights with cultural performances and sumptuous food thrown in. There are regular hostel parties with music and モgoodiesヤ that go on till the wee hours of the night, and are the source of many college rumors!

Fee Structure And Facilities

Nicely planned. If you havea loan from bank, specially SBI, its nicely managed. in 2011 and perhaps now XLRI is the best place to do MBA and get value for money

Fees and Financial Aid

SBI Scholar loan is apt and easily disbursed if one has necessary documentation in place, Other PSU and private bbanks also fund the popular courses

Campus Life

5

XL culture or XL bonding is what makes XLRI stand out from the rest of the B-schools. A small batch size ensures that everybody knows almost everybody else. Seniors are regularly seen helping out juniors, even before their own exams. But more than that, it is the feeling of oneness and the sense of cooperation that binds the entire XLRI community. As another batch of starry-eyed XLers are about to witness over the next two years, XL culture goes beyond students, faculty, staff. Its something that can only be experienced and cannot be explained. XLRI unsurprisingly always has a healthy gender ratio which many other B-schools are trying to achieve with special efforts. The diversity results in creativity and provides whole new perspective to all the student initiativesThis facilitates strong interaction among the student community.

Hostel Facilities

5

Very good. Actually it has all that you need. Cost of living is low as Jamshedpur doesnt give one much avenues to spend. Being in east india, most basic stuff is available quite cheaply. Hostel rooms are adequate and maintained properly. The Hostel complex is very near the learning center & library moreover male & female hostels are adjacent.

Alumni/Alumna

Well, once you become an XLer, you become a part of the rich alumni network of XLRI. Being the oldest B-school of India, the XLRI alumni network has deep penetration in the industry. XLers enjoy coveted positions in almost all the major companies. Not to mention, the HR Leadership in almost all the companies operating in India has XLers. Throughout the summers XL-alum meets are organized all over the India.

Exam Structure

Very intense curriculum. We were always preparing dfor some test or other exam. when that was not happening. we were involved in case studies. While all the efforts linked to grades, it was obviously lots of fun.Average sleep time was 4 hrs, but it never was stressful

Faculty

5

XLRI rightly boasts about one of the best faculty amidst Indian B-schools, which is boosted by good number of visiting and guest faculties. XLRI was recognized by London business school among top 5 institutes in India for management research. XLRI hosts world class facilities. Lecture Hall and the library ensures students can work uninterrupted at any time of the day. The best part of faculty interaction is there 24X7 availability on campus. They are approachable and always theer to help you shape your ideas. My interactions have continued beyond college and they continue to be my guiding torch

There are many companies that visit IMS and pick students by taking exams and interviews. Some of them include Accenture, Capgemini, tcs, etc. These multinational companies visit and you can take your chance by qualifying exam and interview. In short, there is full placement in IMS and you will surely be settled after your course.
