Remarks
College management is decent. The placement is not good. If any complaints are done, I think it's handled decently. Management is not that bad. But can't be called excellent either.
Course Curriculum Overview
Exam is held on semester basis. Course curriculum should be researched properly before applying for it. It's details and it's various subjects in every semester. Yeah, B.Com(P) is more about theory and practical based knowledge impartation. But practice knowledge involves formulas amd tables like cost accounting, management accounting etc, which are useful in industries like in cost, production, manufacturing, accounting etc. To get more insights, we were taken to Stock exchange buidling for more knowledge. There was a subject called EVS for which we were taken to Yamuna Biodiversity Park in Delhi to know more about plants , animals, their names , their scientific names etc.
Placement Experience
I haven't availed any internships from the college but from an app called Internshala. The internship is regarding content writing for which I'm paid. Placements are not that good in the college.
College Events
1. Artsitry Kalakriti event- it's an annual art event in which different colleges participate to display their artistic talents. 2. Srijan- Our college main event held annually once. In this a singer comes as the guest. Events include various activities ranging from dance, singing, art, debate, quiz etc. 3. Sports day held once annually 4. Rally sometimes 5. NSS events are held various times.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's very feasible as compared to other DU college. B.Com(P) fees annually is Rs. 3500 something. And I paid online. The fees is less so I m not aware of any fee breakdown. Additional fees is not incurred or charged by the college once you enter the college. But while registering to DU I think a very little nominal amount has to be paid.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship opportunities are offered to SC, ST and OBCs and to other backward people. Moreover, it's offered to students whose household income is less than a specific amount they mentions. A form has to be filled for that. An exam is held to avail the scholarship. I haven't availed the scholarship so I'm not aware of the average sum.
Campus Life
Campus Life is not bad. No wifi is offered. No acs. But it's decent. It's an off campus college, so it's more peaceful. Being a girl's College it's genter ratio is of girls only. Parties are held by the union, colleges and also by some parties like ABVP. I haven't seen any bullying or ragging in the college on basis of gender, religion etc. There are various cultural societies you can join like dance, debate, art, photography, modeling etc. There is also a well maintained park where flowers bloom mostly in Jan- March. This enhances college beauty. The washrooms are not that bad. The classes are decent. I thus don't regard this college as a bad influence on me.
Hostel Facilities
No. Hostel is not available in my college. Pgs are available outside the college by different persons not related to college. Many of my Friends have opted for PGs outside the college and it's expensive as usual.
Alumni/Alumna
Our seniors were helpful and supportive and I still am in contact with them. Seniors were even supportive during my admission process. Alumini workshop is held once in a while in College that gives speeches and encourages us with motivational speeches.
Admission
On the basis of merit basis I.e. on the basis of the percentage secured in class 12. So in the first cutoff my percentage was satisfying the cutoff of SPM college. I signed up in the Delhi University website and applied for this college for the specific course. I did this in year 2017. My class 12 marksheet, migration certificate, thumb print, photo etc were asked, for which I uploaded on my DU profile. After I was confirmed I was supposed to visit the college for sign in some form with some asked documents like class 12 marksheet, migration certificate, class 10 marksheet etc. I was asked the original documents to be submitted in the college. And after that I got a confirmation green color slip. As simple as that.
Faculty
Lectures are held 5 days a week. Sat and Sun is off. Minimum 3 lectures are held everyday and maximum 6. Average age of the students studying in my course was 18 in the first year. Most of the students were from the SC, ST, OBC category with 85 percentage. The professors are well qualified and trained. They have deep knowledge and understanding. And understands how students should be handled and taught. As said earlier, the subjects taught, some of them seems relevant in gaining industry specific experience and knowledge.
