Remarks

I would conclude that if you are serious about your career then this is as good as any other college and the management was also very cooperative.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum then was pretty ok. However few faculties would be able to finish the course on time, I mean before the final exams whereas few would lag behind. But all of them were very helpful. But there were no industrial visits organized neither was there in on-campus placements.

Placement Experience

2

From 1994 to 1999 I never saw any company that visited our college for their placement drives so obviously there were no general steps in the requirement drive. I believe we did not have any such placement facilities then.

College Events

4

There were number of events in our college. Many students were interested in some form of arts so we had singing and acting competition. Sports day was held on a big scale. There were those usual days like Black and White, Miss Match, Rose day, etc. We had Annual Day in our big campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee was extremely reasonable. We would pay in cash. But I believe cheque payment was also accepted. There were no additional fee to be paid to secure the admission. Yes, there was transparency in the fee breakdown too. We would get a receipt where all the details were mentioned.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure about any scholarship opportunities and I am not sure about the exact amount of scholarship.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio may be 60% guys and 40% girls. And it was having a extremely diverse environment. The college ranked always in top 3 in NCC competition. And they also encouraged lot of girls to participate in the same. They also encouraged theatre acting and would arrange for the acting workshops every weekend.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No. I didn't stay in the hostel. But there was a small building in the campus itself but not sure whether it was a hostel. But it had rooms. I don't know the rentals as we never opted for the hostel rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors were good. Didn't have much communication though. In my college days I never had any interaction with the alumni.

Admission

Back in 1994, we had to get the admission form from the college, fill it and submit it. Then wait for the list and go there personally to check your name in the list. I wanted to go for graduation in commerce, so I opted for the B. Com course. This college was close by and it saved a lot of travelling time.

Faculty

4

There was all 3 streams i.e Arts, Commerce and Science. However in Commerce stream we had approximately 15 lecturers in our college. The average age according to me was 40 years. One professor was also a Chartered Account and so we had a good learning experience from him especially in our final year.

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.
