Jadavpur University (JU) - The Dream of millions

Management is satisfactory at Jadavpur University. If a student faces any issues, they can approach the competent authority, and hopefully, they would try their best to solve the problem. One thing, I would like to draw the attention of the management. Please don't allow outsiders into the campus without verifying their identity. Sometimes we have noticed outsiders enter the university campus, and the students become the victims if they do any mal-activities.

The course structure is designed, keeping in mind the current industry's demand. Students are trained and groomed in such a way; recruiters can capture them at ease. Two examinations are taken in a year (Odd Sem and Even Sem). Students need to score at least 50 in a subject for getting qualified in the same.

In JU, besides the academic curriculum, students are encouraged to participate in various cultural and technical festivals. Every year students organize two fests. One is a technical fest, and the other one is a cultural fest. They invite Alumni of the university. Guest performance, band party, etc. become the central attraction of cultural fest. Besides these, the students also perform in solo (dance, drama, playing instruments, etc. ). The students also stand by the common people as when needed. They organize various camps (blood donation camps, awareness camps, etc. ). Also, they don't hesitate to protest against any illegal or malicious activities - that can hamper the interest of ordinary people.

Being the State Government University of West Bengal, students of Jadavpur University pay very nominal fees. So, expenses should not be a burden to the meritorious students. They can also get the various scholarship from time to time. Financially weak students can apply for subsidy in tuition fees.

Financially weak students can take an educational loan. They can also apply to the competent authority for subsidy in paying tuition fees. The students who have outstanding academic performance can get a scholarship as well. There are various scholarship schemes available at Jadavpur University; each of these has separate criteria for application.

Students are not only bounded to study all the time. Besides studying, students also involved in various other activities, such as dance, dramas, playing musical instruments, etc. Health is Wealth. So, students equally give importance to physical activities. There is a Gym center, table tennis court, cricket/football ground. The gender ratio is well balanced. Overall, the students at Jadavpur University exhibit a perfect campus life.

The senior students are very friendly. My suggestion to the freshers is - no need to be panicked for ragging in JU. The campus of JU is ragging free(zero tolerance of ragging). Seniors sometimes come just for the interaction. They treat juniors like brothers/sisters. Juniors can get tremendous help from the seniors, once a good relationship is built between them.

Students who are interested in taking admission in the ME course should sit in the GATE examination. Getting a valid rank is a necessary criterion for filling up the form. Then according to the position, the merit list is published. In some streams, an Interview is also taken. Later, students get admitted after document verification.

The faculty members of Jadavpur University are excellent. Most of them are highly qualified (like Doctorate and Post-Doctorate) in their respective domains. They are very much student-friendly. They try their best to make the students understand and grasp the subject in deep. If a student can't get something, teachers welcome them in the stuff room (after the class).
