Entrance Preview

I cracked WB-JEE with rank 3465. The college location and its previous track record of its placement encouraged me to opt for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I took B Tech in electrical engineering. At that time our college was under West Bengal University of technology so course curriculum was same as that of the other colleges under WBUT. My electives at 4th year were Power generation economics and remote control telemetry (these were the optional subjects offered in our college).

Internships Opportunities

There was no such internship programme offered at our time. We went through a vocational training programme at Santaldih Thermal power station in the final year.

Placement Experience

5

Huge number of placement occurred at our time. Most of them were software companies like CTS, Wipro, NIIT,Accenture,Satyam,Tech Mahindra, Persistant, Syntel, Mphasis, Infosys, Perrot systems,TCS. Salary offered were approx 3- 3.2 per annum(CTC). Some core companies like DCPL, LnT construction also came.

College Events

5

Each year there was a cultural fest named "Anachronous" organized by our college. Students of final year mainly arranged the fest. Popular band Strings,Parikrama, fossils, Chandrabindo .

Fee Structure And Facilities

At our time there was a fixed fee structure for all WBUT colleges. It was Rs.32,000/- which is affordable. I can't tell about the recent fee structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have no knowledge about these kind of scholarship.I don't think there was scholarship offered to any student at our batch.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was great. Extracurricular activities were always encourage by our college. We had annual cricket competition and football competition. There was no gender bias or religion bias or something like that.No political activites were netertained at our college.Quiz, robotics competitions were held at the annual technical fest. Fashion show, singing and dancing competition, face painting competition were organized at cultural fest. Our students took part in various gaming and robotics events at other colleges.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were cooperative and friendly. There was an alumni network which is not so much active I guess. There was a group named techno india alumni at facebook.

Exam Structure

Apart from semestar exams there were two internal exams on each subject in each semestar. And there were lab internals also. Its okay you can chill out...but you need to take these exams seriously.

Faculty

3.5

Atmost half of the faculties were retired professor from Jadavpur University , Shibpur BE college and Durgapur NIT. Some were professionals from WBSEB and BHEL. And some were freshly recruited. Some of them were PhD also. Not all the faculties were good but some of them were excellent.
