Remarks

The campus is so nice with a pleasent environment and nature around us because of trees and birds. Canteens are nice and feasible. The cost of food is affordable. Right from friends to faculty, everything is good. Things are taught in a very organized way, where students are taught to learn things with enthusiasm. Students are taught how to live harmoniously with each other even though everyone belongs to different race and culture.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Curriculum for the course is mostly similar to the one that is followed by most of the universities. But the exam structure is completely different and based on exam pattern by IIT madras. Questions are more application level than theory. Course Curriculum Review Exam structure consists of two internal exams and an End semester exam. attendance of 80% is mandatory to attend end semester exam. About the examination, it tries to help students learn in depth the core subjects and also provide electives that each student can personally choose according to his or her convince. They try to include new subjects that are trending into the curriculum every semester. They also consider students requests while preparing the subjects in the semester.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are good includes companies from all core sectors though software firms are more in number. Internship has to be done outside in private or government firms. The Stipend of Rs 8000 per month given by MHRD which will be later increased to Rs 12400. For Computer Science branch placement is 100% and average package is 8 lakhs.for other branches placement varies from 30% to 90%.

College Events

5

The National Institute of Technology Calicut host one of the most popular and massive technical and cultural fest in India The technical fest is called as Tathva.Students from almost all parts of South India came here for attending the workshops, events and lecture. The college provide participation certificates to them. The cultural fest is named as Ragam held in January for three days which is one of the most biggest fest in South whereas Tatva is the technical festival conducted in the campus and is usually conducted in the month of October in the monsoon semester. These two fests are popular in whole India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is based on the family annual income. This is set forward by the Government of India MHRD. The fee for the course is nil if you belong to a minority or backward in income. The second category is middle class having an income of 1 lakh to 5 lakhs you'll have to pay 56000 annually. If you have an annual income of about 5 lakhs you'll have to pay sum of 112000 per annum. And hostel plus mess fee will be around five thousand per a month. Food is nice and the fee is feasible for a middle class family.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, i did not opt for any kind of scholarship. But as I am from a family of income of 1 lakh to 5 lakh, the fees will be comparatively lesser than that of the general category students.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is absolutely wonderful. Lot of extra curricular activities are organised and we get to take part in them and even organise such activities. The faculty, student group etc also organises workshops on various technologies, subjects etc. There are many technical clines like Robot Interested Group, Team Unwired, Club Mathematica, etc. These clubs and the department association are active and bring up lot of opportunities for students to learn beyond their academic curriculum.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel infrastructure is quiet good for us.it have a well prepared mess and good electrical and water supply which is sufficient for the whole students present in the Hostel. The Hostel fees and mess fees are added up to an amount of approximately 5000 INR per month. First year to third year will have a 4 people to 3 people sharing room but in final - 4th or 5th year will get a single room.and the average rent of room was 800 rupees per month and average mess fees around 4000 per month.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is actively controlled by the faculties of the departments and their life is being actively tracked to provide guidance and inspiration to the students. Seniors are also helpful for instructions and doubt clearing.

Admission

Firstly, i got into my college though the IIT-JEE entrance examination, more precisely, the Jee main paper 2. The admission process is simple, basically to get into any of the National institutes or any affiliated colleges, we must be ranked atleast somewhere around 3,000 among the 4 lakh students who are appearing for the entrance examination ( in JEE Mains paper 2 ). Then coming to getting into my college, the person must score a rank of below 600 to 700 to get an admission into my college. Once All India Rank is declared, everyone must apply through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) by choosing NIT Calicut or any other national institute as their preference. Various rounds of online seat allocation are conducted by JoSAA, followed by counselling at NIT Calicut.

Faculty

5

The faculty of NIT Calicut has a great respect in India. The faculty is great here. Most of the faculty is IIT graduated and many of them are having some researches or papers published which increases their reputation all over the world. For each and every class, there'll be a faculty advisor who will support in all issues. Core subject faculty has industry-experience. Faculty will provide their email, phone number to contact them.if we have any doubts we can clarify in phone, email or directly.

As I'm a first year student I don't know much about placements but I think it starts by 8th sem for b arch students. Placements for barch are low compare to btech. But as this is a prestigious institution the best firms come here and there is a unit called CGPU for helping students regarding placements here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like architecture because of its creatove and practicality. And in pur college they are making sure of combining those two together. Their teaching methods are good for me because i am learning so much. But not for everyone they are sl friendly in outside i think if they are so friendly in college . The students might like the letures more. The jury and exams are mostly collide that is a not good thing for us. They are making sure of the real world works so that we can actually survive after the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Im a passionate student architect. From childhood, I had this dream of becoming a creator. So I chose this course. There is a good ratio of faculty student ratio in the private colleges all over india. I'm not sure about the teaching method because this is more like a self learning course. But faculties are also helpful most of the time. Jury subjects are tougher than written examinations.

Remarks:

Ours is a National College. People from different background from different parts of india do come to study in college.I can't say that The Faculty in our College is too good. But they are quite okay. The faculties of the first year Maths are too poor. Most of them are ADHOC. Some Faculty treat the students as their own children, being liberal to them, while some at the same time just know how to teach, not to mingle with the students. Rest all branches dont have that much placement opportunity as compared to CSE. Positive 1.One of the biggest quality is the exposure that a student gets while studying in this college. The lectures are of high standards and the professors are of international demand. 2.An another good quality is the placement that we get from this college.people from across Kerala always praise the high quality of placements that we get in this college Negative 1.The lecture classes are very much one way, rather than being more interactive 2.Mosquito in some hostels
