In my course there are 30 seats in my department. Students must be graduated from a recognised university. The must apply through online. There is a website of our University. Students can open the portal and fill up the application form. In the form they must put their willing subject or subjects and then they must put their personal details like name , parents name, address, phone number, aadhar card number and then they have to upload their graduation marksheets, hs and madhyamik marksheet, case certificate (if available), photo, signature and birth proof. Then they have to pay their application fees and click on submit. There are reservation benefits for obc-a, obchb and sc/St. There are also reserved seats for sports and handicapped people. I have issues with the time they have taken for their admission process. It is very long time to wait for students. They take a very long time(1-2 months) to publish the merit list. After completion of their class 12, one can apply for this course. The admission was held based on the average marks of best of four subjects of class 12. Then one had to fill-up the form from the University. Application fees is 500 rupees for unreserved candidates and 250 rupees for reserved candidates. The best 40 will be selected based on their average marks and then they will be called for counseling; out of which 30 students will be selected for this course. The Kalyani university does not take any entrance tests for post-graduation. The admission process is based on the merit list. You have to score good marks in your graduation honors subject to get admission here. Although departments have much more seat capacity but 80% of the total seats are for home university students and 20% of seats are available for other's university students. The total student's seat capacity is around 110. Around 40 seats are available for minority candidates like SC/ST/OBC.
