Remarks
Honestly, this college wasn't my choice. My sister went to this college and my rank was very poor that's why I didn't have a choice. I went to the college with my scorecard and got direct admission without any donation. The placement records are alright for CSE (the course I opted for). Most students get 2.5lpa jobs which shouldn't be something that tempts you. So don't join this college. If your rank is poor, work hard this year and reappear next year and join a good better. It's not worth spending lacs on a mediocre college that won't even get you average jobs.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am a CSE student. The course syllabus was set according to MAKAUT guidelines. The syllabus was updated and classes were held regularly. Some of the faculties like Sayon Sir, Sonali Ma'am were great but most of them weren't very good teachers. Nonetheless, the CSE faculty was good and the teachers were quite helpful and friendly. But the industrial exposure provided by the college is literally zero. In the final year, it's mandatory according to MAKAUT to have summer training and that's the only industrial exposure you'll get.
Internships Opportunities
No. I didn't opt for an internship. In our course, we are supposed to get summer training in the final year and not an internship. It's not part of the curriculum.
Placement Experience
Most companies visiting the college are IT-based. Not many well-known brands visit the college although the brochure speaks otherwise. Students are supposed to get through via pool campus drives. The only companies visiting the college are mediocre and half of the time, the offer letter doesn't reach the student even after getting selected. The college also has a history of bringing fake companies during campus drives. The average placement rate is 60-70% but some of them don't receive the offer letter and most get salaries much lower than that was mentioned during interviews. The placement cell is not good. So I would advise looking for other colleges. The alumni networking is moderate. This year, a pass out student came for recruitment for the company in which he works. But the students didn't get an offer letter even after being selected so it's a different story. There was an entrepreneurship cell in the college lead by Arindom Sir but it collapsed within a year after sir left the college. I myself was part of the E-cell and I believe it failed mostly because the members weren't competent enough.
College Events
The campus life was good. The college was strictly a no ragging zone and the students followed that religiously. The biggest event of the year is the annual cultural fest which is organized by the final year students. The budget for the event varies between 4-5 lacs so it's not very grand. Another event is the tech fest which is inter college. The issue with the events of this college is the budget problem. The college doesn't cooperate or help with the money. The students are responsible for raising money for every event.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are not provided by the college. But if you have a poor financial background or are a minority then you can apply for a concession in fees. The college might or might not provide you with that based on your profile. Nonetheless, you can always for students loan which is easily available which the college profile.
Campus Life
The campus is really pretty. The classrooms are moderately airy. Only the computer labs are air-conditioned. The campus has wifi. The hostel students use the college wifi. Sports facilities in the college are not so good. There are cricket and football ground on campus. No indoor game rooms on the campus. There is a common room for boys but not for girls. The library is quite okay. There are not many books but the books you'll need for engineering are there. There is a wifi-enabled digital library as well with 10 computers. The laboratories are good and well maintained. The equipment are in a good condition.
Hostel Facilities
I didn't opt for the hostel so I'm not fully aware of the working. But I've heard that the rooms are clean and spacious. Single and sharing both the options are open to students. The college canteen is available to them for the daily meals. There is a wifi facility in the hostels. Students are monitored closely by the hostel wardens so that they don't break rules.
