Remarks

This is one of the best engineering colleges in the state with great faculty and learning experiences. The extra-curricular activities that are offered within the college are varied and very immersive. Participating in and National and State level competitions is also an opportunity available to us. The industry connects via college festivals is amazing. That was a great plus point and pushing factor in it all. I love the atmosphere of the college where we can interact with people from so many different backgrounds and also the institute is academically sound. I opted for computer science as it is the best field in the industry right now.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course syllabus is pretty up to date and changes every semester depending on the Industry Standards as and when needed. We were given 2 industry visits and also a host of Guest Lectures have been conducted as well. There were also a host of international conferences that have taken place in the college. The faculty are really nice and helpful. All professors in the mathematics department are really amazing. They are helpful in any projects that we undertake and fairly available for doubt solving as well.

Internships Opportunities

I interned in Ugam Solutions, I was a tech intern developing mobile applications, stipend was 20000 per month. The process involved a shortlist based on grades, then an aptitude test followed by 2 personal interviews

Placement Experience

4

100+ companies visited the campus, various profiles offered depending on the department they were looking for. The placement process is pretty efficient and the placement office has good industry and alumni connections. Sachin founder of M-indicator.

College Events

5

Technovanza is a the biggest festival of our college, it is the technical festival taking place in the last week of December. Sir, the student community in Mumbai looks up to you as someone whose principles they would like to emulate, and draw inspiration from your life story. We were visited by eminent scientist and former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in 2011. He was the one who gave us our motto of Taking Technology to Society. We will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year, and are also expecting the presence of prominent dignitaries from the world over. We would be delighted to host you for the same. UNESCO Patronage: You would be pleased to know that we function under the patronage of UNESCO, the highest form of support extended by them to any event that they feel helps serve their core purposes. We are one of the only few student organisations in India to receive the patronage. Make in India Patronage: Our efforts for taking technology to the grassroots level have also helped us receive the patronage from the Make in India, Digital India and Skill India campaigns. Testimonial: On World Peace Day, 2016, His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama was gracious enough to send us a special message for our success. Over the span of these years, we have produced famous alumni such as Mr. JC Mahindra, Founder, Mahindra and Mahindra, Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Ex-Chairman, Department of Atomic Energy, and Dr. Shekhar Basu, Present Chairman, Department of Atomic Energy, among a host of others. Technovanza, one of the biggest techno-managerial events in Asia, has been attracting great number of visitors from all walks of life. We boast of a footfall of over 50,000 each year. Technovanza has grown immensely since its inception in 2001. We are extremely proud of the fact that it is entirely organised by the students without institutional assistance. Events: We host a plethora of events pertaining to different aspects of the technical field, ensuring participation by students from various disciplines. The various events pertain to the following · Lecture series · National Level Robotic events · RCMO (RUBIK’S CUBE MUMBAI OPEN being the standout) · Exhibition Tent displaying national and international level projects · Entrepreneurship events · Startup and Internship Expo Community Service: Service to society is one of the founding principles that drive the fest and the college. As part of our endeavours to create social awareness, we undertake MISSION MUMBAI and PRATIGYA wherein the students combine brains, brawn and determination to affect change and for the betterment of society through various ground-level events and activities. Pratigya involves a teaching initiative by us, wherein we students go to nearby schools and educate the students, in view of our ultimate goal –TAKING TECHNOLOGY TO SOCIETY. Mission Mumbai includes tree plantation drives, cleanliness drives, as well as a Donation Drive, as part of our efforts to do our best to make the city a better place to live in. Lecture Series: Expertise is epitome of intellectual brilliance and a passion to reach the zenith. The renowned line-up of Guest Lectures over the years has always been a prime platform where the flame of expertise has been effectively transferred to many more torches. The pioneers of diverse fields have graced Technovanza with their presence, illuminating more and more minds to new areas of interest. Guest lectures give a taste of a world of knowledge and learning which is much beyond what we have already experienced. I was the Chief Financial Officer of the festival and also a part of the sponsorship, video and design team of the festival. Then we have the cultural festival Pratibimb and the sports festival Enthusia. We also have Start-up Net Con organized by the Entrepreneurship Cell.

Fees and Financial Aid

One of the scholarships is based on your 12th Standard percentage. This usually is provided by the government. The other is on the quota you are in, according to that you get a haircut on your fee. It also is less for girls.

Campus Life

3.5

Our campus is about 80 years old but does have a lot of facilities built during the past couple of years. For sports we have a basketball court, football ground, cricket ground, lawn tennis court and also a gymnasium for the hostelites. There is a also a gymkhana for indoor games like carom, chess and table tennis. The Wi-Fi connectivity in the campus is low with most strong connections available in laboratories where the connections speed reach up to 100 mbps. The library is huge with a great collection of books, research material and magazines, it was recently renovated and has a great infrastructure and environment. Our auditorium was also refurbished recently. It was made state-of-the-art with plush seats, central air conditioning and a great projector and audio system. Connecting it is a green room for guests and speakers. The college canteen is a bit run down but the food available is extremely delicious and the menu changes everyday to provide a great variety. We also have a common Internet Laboratory where students can access the internet and study during exams. There is a dedicated study space as well for students. We also have an in-house xerox center where notes for all classes and years are made available. There is also an ATM present on campus for quick cash withdrawal. The textile department has a state of the art equipment room for all needs. The Training and placement office that spans an entire floor is well equipped with all the technology required and also has many interview rooms and freely available resources for student to use. Each department has specific laboratories with relevant equipment.

Hostel Facilities

3

I do not live in the hostel but I do know some things. It is on a 3 people sharing basis, the rooms are decent size and each person has their own bed and cupboards. There is a study desk and mirror in each room as well. There are a few rentals available around the college for girls, and a couple of PG's available for boys and girls within a 2 km radius of the college. The availing of hostel facility depends on the score achieved in the previous given examinations.
