Remarks

Maharaja Agrasen institute of technology is a reputed one and is one of the best colleges at Indraprastha University. Also, the rank which I got in JEE, this was the best option for me. Though it is a private college too, being affiliated to Indraprastha University, it somehow comes under state government which adds to its value. So rather than studying in a deemed university, this was a much much better option. And I don't regret my decision at all. The faculty, the curriculum and the crowd are good in this college. The cultural groups/societies are famous all over Delhi. One can learn a lot from this college in academics as well as extracurricular. Also, one thing that made me take admission here was that though the attendance is important here but not so strict like it is in many other colleges where 85 or 90% attendance is compulsory that if u want to join any coaching for GATE or CAT or anything, you will get enough time for that too and managing college along with coaching and other stuff won't be an issue.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is good, the faculty is good and experienced. Yes, industrial exposure is provided but not much. So this is something that our college must improve on.

Placement Experience

3

To be honest, the placement here is not so good if we see the crowd of students present in this college. The crowd is excellent and talented, and they deserve much better job opportunities. So this is something major in which this college needs to improvise. But still, on an average the placements are okay. Almost everyone gets placed here. Many MNCs visit our colleges like Mahindra, Facebook, Infosys, TCS and so many. But also, due to its isolated location, I feel many companies do not visit. Also, the entrepreneur cell needs to improve. In this college, almost everyone gets placed but on their own merits and hard work. The college doesn't do much. Like one does not get any good training or internship opportunities from college's side. One has to do all this stuff on their own. One has to build their resume on their own. So yes, this is something very very important and it's high time this college should do some work on and improve.

College Events

4

The cultural groups/societies are quite active in our college. There is a total of 12 cultural societies in our college and they are famous all over Delhi. Our college takes part in so many inter college competitions and has won so many times. Apart from cultural societies, there are tech societies also like IEEE, DSC, IOSD, etc. These tech societies conduct so many events, hackathons and so on from time to time. Our college fest Techsurge and Mridrang is so good and interesting. Everyone knows the location of our college is not so endearing and it takes a lot of time for students from other colleges to come here, but its distance and location has never stopped the crowd to attend our fests and functions. Though it is not as famous as the fests of IIT, DTU and NSIT, etc it's emerging every year and I am sure one day it will outshine.

I feel like the curriculum is a little out dated and boring but due to a good faculty it makes the course more worthwhile The curriculum is very text based and less practical and more emphasis on bookish knowledge persists still .

As per I've heard, placements here are decent. I can't say for sure because I'm new here. About my plans, I am doing CFA side by side because I don't believe that a bachleors degree has any valur of it's own, one needs to pair it with something else.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a person who wants to build a strong foundation in both economics and mathematics, B.A.(Hons.) Economics was my first choice. This course not only provide valuable insights into how real world economics work, but it also has great career prospects. Students studying economics major actively take consulting, research, risk management as popular career choices. Since this is a practical course with a broad focus on mathematics, the difficulty level is from moderate to high.

Placement Experience:

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.
