Student's Review On Thapar Institute Of Engineering And Technology - [Thapar University], Patiala

I scored an average marks in JEE Mains. And at this score I was not able to get admissions in any other good colleges. Also, thapar has a very good image and I researched more about it. I found that except that this is a private University so it has a very high tution fees but leaving this, this is the best. Students of thapar and NIT Jalandhar have direct competition. I had an aim for NIT Jalandhar but couldn't get it. But for sure I can compromise with thapar without any guilt. This college has a wonderful campus, a very experienced teachers which other than teaching provide you with research work too. In my views if unfortunately you missed your dream college, do try considering this college if you can afford.

Our course curriculum is very flexible and I like this thing. Like initial we had subjects which don't have that much importance as a new subject like machine learning or Image processing. We can decide ourselves the subjects and give that proposal to our HoD. And if our proposed curriculum meets the requirements it is approved. We have enough exposure because teachers give us real life projects from time to time. We have Dr. Vinay Kumar, Associate Professor, he is one of the best prof who understands the students and helps whenever required.

There are many reputed companies which visit are college for placements and internship opportunities. For eg- JP Morgan, Optum, Standard chartered, Microsoft, arcesium, etc. Although it depends on companies but every company at least take 5-7 students on an average. We have got good alumni contacts which help us with the companies everytime. We have an EDC cells which even invests in startup's. I have seen a senior of mine getting 10 lakhs investment for a vendor machine.

We have many fests organized by different clubs. There are more than 40 different clubs in Thapar which includes technical and cultural both. There is one main fest named Saturnalia which is one of the biggest techno-cultural fest of north India.

We have one of the best campus in north India. If you Google and see images of the campus you will be amazed. We have constructed a new library that is just huge. 24*7 electricity, good wifi connection, dispensary, fully equipped labs, etc.
