Campus Life

This is not organized by our college authority. The campus,,, Somaiya has best college campus with lot of activities area in it
The Sittings accross the campus is really student friendly
Canteens were supper affordable for students for food accessibility

Dislikes

The cordination given by management of college, They were so rude all the time idk y

Course Curriculum Overview:

Literature gave me insights to the history and a different pov on the situations happened Literature sharpens the thought process we can have in real world scenarios which are quite unique tbh. Its just too much of theory, if could update it and make it somehow relavent to today situation, it would be fun learning it

SPC from a TYBA students POV

Kalamandal (like theatre club), it’s a different world and it’s magical.
December to March is the college fests time and it’s super lively and fun
Psychology, Sociology & Philosophy departments have amazing professors. They’re smart, helpful and actually care for their students

Dislikes

Except for Psyc, Socio& Philo other departments are awful specially the English department. The HOD herself speaks horrible English and doesn’t even know any books of jane Austin besides pride and prejudice.
The toilets are horrible and never clean and are barely open even. The canteens are also okayish at most.
The management and accounts department are horribly slow

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's good, it's fun and I enjoy it. It changes every sem and that's why we also get to explore more of the subjects. It also depends on the professor tho. First year is to chose 6 different subjects and explore. Then second year you get to choose one major and two minors. Major are then divided into 3 parts, the 2 minor subject are elaborated and one compulsory subject which is English, this continues for third year. There are 2-3 additional subjects that change every sem too like PE, EVS, etc.

Inside scoop on ruia

Out of fright I applied to many colleges like KC , ruia , ruparel , wilson , Elphinstone etc but atlast decided to choose ruia as the microbiology department of ruia is outstanding and the no. of opportunities one can get when in ruia is very vast and the growth which happens in a place like ruia where there is a team/group/society for evey persons liking and ability . I didn't got any rejections as my score was 67 and every other college's science cut off was very low so there were many choices for me to make so as per the credibility of evey college i compared the department and curriculum and RUIA turned out to be the best . IN RUIA ONE CAN DEFINITELY BALANCE STUDIES , WORK AND EQUAL AMOUNT OF FUN DURING FESTS. The admission process for ruia is once you get accepted by getting your name In the list then you have to go there in person for offline document verification and choose the major minor combination of your course as per your liking then they will send you an online link with an expiring time for you to pay the fees . afterwords they will email you the following details of commemoration of classes and induction which is also updated on their official ruia college site ....Read More

Ruia, A place where future leaders are shaped

Taking admission into my course needed a 10+2 certificate from any Nationally recognised board of education in Science stream. The students will have to first register on the University of Mumbai website after which they can register themselves on the college website. Once registered, the college puts up a cut off list for the course and admissions occur in 3 rounds. Reservation is present in admission to courses but depends on the cut off. During my times the cut off from the 3rd list was 86 percentage and the first list was above 90 percentage. The exams are moderately tough and the exam cell is one of the best....Read More
