Remarks

Academics of this college is really good. A minimum attendance of 75% is compulsory. Also if a student has an attendance below 60% he/she is made to pay a fine of 5000 rs. The college is pretty strict for their attendance. The quality of teaching is no doubt good and there are many experienced teachers here. The college also prepares the students for real life industry problems as well and the study is indeed job-ready.

Placement Experience

The vision of this college is to impart education and knowledge at all levels of the society which was the main aim of our founder Sir Surendranath Banerjee, a great a patriot of Indian freedom movement and a great educationist cum politician of pre-independence India. Keeping with the legacy of our founder the College is committed to imparting, sustaining and fostering all-round holistic and quality education to the students coming from every stratum of the society so that they gather knowledge as well as employable expertise and grow up as responsible global citizens of tomorrow. The institution envisages evolving, improving, upgrading and remaining committed to its laurels of heritage in conformity with the immortal words of the Upanishada, namely “Damyata” or Restraint, “Datta” or Charity and “Dayaddhyam” or non-violence, and also with modern outlook to make the college a centre of excellence for higher education and research. The vision of our college is to build up a sound human resource base of this state and to attain the status of a model evening college in the eastern region of India.

Fees and Financial Aid

Along with growing awareness about the importance of education to succeed in the knowledge economy, the cost of quality education too is growing fast. Parents too are willing to bear that extra cost to fund their child's higher education. Education loan is the most cost effective means to fund your education if you are unable to get a full scholarship or do not have a generous aunt or uncle willing to sponsor your education. Though most banks do provide education loan, it is the public sector banks that are in the forefront in providing education loans.

Campus Life

3.5

The college provided us a good education and a decent amount of corporate exposure. It ultimately helped us to inculcate professionalism along with the rightful attitude. The college gave the best memories and was considered one of the best management colleges under Maharashtra University. In addition to that, the course was also good and informative and helped us evolve with the course and take leadership roles in many reputed organizations.

Hostel Facilities

4

No it is not necessary to stay in the hostel of both private and government colleges. A hostel is provided for those who do not have a place to stay nearby or are not willing to stay somewhere outside. Most students are allocated a hostel on taking admission to the college. In case you do not get a hostel room and you wish to get one, you may contact the hostel superintendent or the principal as the case may be.

Alumni/Alumna

Our senior students are very good and they are always helpful. The student union is autonomous, its internal life organized by its by-laws. The student unions are responsible for all representation of the students and elect the student members of different administrative organs. They usually coordinate and finance the activities of smaller, more specialized student organizations.

Admission

I got the admission in this college to fill up form of online. As a result it is not only transparent but also user convenient. The full admission process is controlled by online software. The direct payment through Punjab national Bank has launched from this year to make the admission process more convenient and transparent to the students. Application for online admission to the college is started just after the announcement of the result of the higher Secondary examination.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always wanted to persue English as a career. I love studying English but not a big fan of the new curriculum by NEP that includes a lot pf irrelevant papers. The semesters are not consistent. Odd semesters usually have a lot of time like 6-8 months but even semesters barely consist of 2-3 months.

I used to read so many novels from my childhood and that inspired me in getting attracted to this field. We used to have the fecility of having seminar in the end of every month after compleating of each lessons. And this process helped us in true education. After every year professors from differnt parts of the country used to come for a seminer for overall groth of the students. Actually is theory teaching style is followed in the college, according to me some developments in the practical teaching can be used. Semister is held at the end of every six months and the exams are used to be moderate in nature.
