Course Curriculum Overview

4

The one thing i like about the BMC course is that it is very versetile and our college introduces alot of practical subjects like graphic designs PR simulation still photograpy newspaper design, editing and proof readyin which are definetly helpfull, they also conduct vivas for the final exams which are judged and scored by actual industry professionals which are brought from companies such as india tody ananda bazar aj tak etc

Internships Opportunities

4

They give internship opportunities from the second year and for my course they partner with SVF Delloite Aj Tak India today, etc to provide hands on experience of the industry, where they make you do stuff like studio work with photography videography or graphic design and desk or feild work like journalism content writing and copy writing and PR work

Placement Experience

5

The students become eligble after they enter their honnors year from 6 to 8 sem where our placement cell conducts several induction classes for the batch, sxuk also has 100% sometimes being a recently established college it has a very good track record with companies and media houses our highest package being 26lpa and average 8lpa my plan is to persue PR as a career and also do masters abrod or out of city

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is paid in 6 months semesters which are 67000 each sem making it 134000 for a year making it around 6 lakhs for 4 years BMC course of 8 sems This includes a development fee of 12k caution fee of 5000 (which is refunded after 4 years if kept intact) For hostelers its an extra 21000 and the college bus service takes 20000 per semester recently there is an increase of fees by 1000 due to the new implementation of AI LMS learning. schollarship for my coruse is provided only if the candidate attains 95 and above in their merit and covers 80% of all the costs of the 4 years.

Campus Life

5

This is probably the best part of the review as the campus life is very vibrant with fests all year round, ive added the fest details in my likings and how all the depts have their own signature events, the univerisity is also open for many kinds of performing arts and as a musician myself i find support in many ways due to this.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel fees is 21k per sem they have cerfew but provide good meals and access to gym games room and library and different sports feilds but one draw back is during summers in kolkata it reaches 45 degrees and the rooms are non ac and students are not allowed to add extra appliances like coolers.

Admission

my selection of this college was due to its course offering of BA mass comm, when i was not let into KIIT for personal and financial reasons, my admissions started by taking a entry level test of english apptitude and general knowledge and then after selection we were given a tour of the college and done the paper work also the registration fee of 100000 has to be paid excluded of the first sem fees coming up to 167000 as the admission cost

Faculty

5

the faculties of mass comm are significantly good and they are well enough qualified their profiles are mentioned prior in the university website but sometimes there are unfair treatment which are illogical but our dean and HOD are very supportive are kind which we all appriciate we are also assigned a class mentor who takes a class mentoring and review sessons about all faculties and even speaks about students personal problems every month.

Night Life

5

for normal students campus nightlife ends at 5 max maybe 7 but in fest it goes till 10pm or evenmore in the night if you are a organising commitee in fests, for hostellers its 10 standard time of cerfew max extended till 12 if any hostel events take place, they also provide special meals in the hostel mess during events or holidays

Other Applied Colleges

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology - [KIIT] | Bachelor of Mass Communication [B.M.C.] + Master of Mass Communication [M.M.C.]

The fees was high and for a student in west bengal it raised alot of personal family problems but the financial problems were that for a 5 year course of MMC i had to pay 22Lakhs which is financially draning for a average middle class family like ours
