Course Curriculum Overview

5

I am in the first semester currently and am enjoying the course altogether. The practical classes are what attract me more I really enjoy doing experiments with semiconductors, which are in our syllabus in the first semester. The thing I don't really appreciate is that we have not got a full six months in our first semester, and the exams are knocking on our doors. There are projectors in our department, so we can see and visualize things better, which enhances our learning experience in the college. I will be appearing for the first semester exams next month, so currently,y I cannot comment on the difficulty of the exams but the previous year's questions that were provided were quite easy so I guess even this year the exams will be easy.

Campus Life

5

Initially, the freshers were held in December, and other than programs happen now or then in the college. even before the Durga puja, some functions happened. All kinds of books are available in the library and anyone having a college library card can access those books. Books ranging from the world of literature to commerce and science are available in the college library. Every classroom is well-equipped with smartboards and projectors. Our college celebrates an annual sports day every year, and there are enough facilities for people in the sports field in the college.

Admission

There is no specific reason for me to choose this college over another college. I got selected over here and got the course I was looking for so I took the admission there are no other specific reasons for me to be admitted to this college. The eligibility criteria to get admission is to complete class 12th in the science stream, that's all, then whoever applies will get a seat depending on merit.

Faculty

5

The faculties in our branch are highly qualified and are friendly with us. If I have to mention one professor specifically, Then D.S. Sir of the Electronics department is excellent he teaches us in a way that brings conceptual clarity very easily. About the exam pattern, we have 7 papers in the first semester in Electronics and the practicals, as well as the theory exams, will be held in away centres.

Night Life

1

There aren't many hangout places in the college but there are few street food vendors around the college and that's all about nightlife and hangout spots. I am not a hosteller so I can't comment anything about the hostel but about campus timing, our classes start at 4:15 pm and the college ends at 9:00 pm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
