A student's insight from the inside.

I intended to attend this college because of the fairly good campus placement record. The college also promises a ragging free campus and a huge resource of digital as well as hard copies of books required for the tenure of the course. The admission criteria for getting into this college will be the rank of WBJEE or the IITJEE. The reason for preferring this college over others is solely because of the dedication this college has to academics, though it gets a little irritating at times. The only negative aspect of this college will be the cramped campus with no playground and the college authorities not having any enthusiasm for the fresher's party.

The course ECE here as an extensive resource and faculty. With micro-controllers lab and the various circuit baased labs with the qualified faculty members to guide you through and through you will have a good time easily grasping the concepts. The teaching method is designed in a particular manner to not bore the students but to give them an enriching experience: books, projected screens, and uniform test series. The exam results are taken very seriously into account and the questions set are based on the application of the concepts you have learned. Only mugging up the concepts won't help you pass.

The placement records in this college are good. Over 90% of the students get placed during the campus placement drives which start from the 6th semester itself. Companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro are the major recruiters. I plan to sit on the campus drives and secure a job in an IT firm. On gathering experience, I would sit for GATE and pursue the PSU's.

No, the college does not provide any scholarships as such. The fees structure considering the course and the facilities the college provides is reasonable. However, the college also has the TFW(tuition fees waiver) scheme under which the financially aided students can study at ease. The fees hike is only due to the increasing course curriculum and not due to any unreasonable cause. The on-campus placement record has always been pretty good with students getting placed in companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro etc.

The campus is cramped with no college ground. The only college campus you get is just three buildings. The recreational area includes a huge common room with two or three carrom boards and a table tennis set. However annual cricket and football tournaments do take place in the month of sept-oct. The tech fests are the only competitions where the whole college gets involved and even the neighbouring colleges too. These fests are generally held in the month of April. Different clubs like the drama club, tech clubs, literary clubs are also available for the students to join.
