Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum of our institute is good. The course is well maintained and much focus on research and practice in biotechnology. We have both theoretical and practical classes, and have equal importance for both. We have six semesters and we have practical exams with them. We have complementary course of chemistry and environmental biotechnology.

Placement Experience

3

Job and placement opportunities are less from college, but there are more opportunities in research labs and we can find on our own. There are more scope after doing MSc and higher education. Research opportunities are available with us. Internships at research labs are available.

College Events

4

College hosts various events from time to time. They are of international and national level by the department, International seminar on Trends in Microbiology and Molecular Biology,International seminar on "Interdisciplinary Developments In Cancer Research", National seminar on IPR-Tool to Protect Inventions and Creations in Biotechnology, etc. National events and festivals, cultural events are also organised.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee of the B.sc biotechnology comes under Government aided so the fee is less. Tution fee is 3000 for this course, special fee is 1455 and caution deposit one time payment is 360. The fee is feasible to all and has to be paid during admission.

Campus Life

4

The department has different extra curricular courses like ICT oriented classes, Remedial coaching, GD, Industrial visits to KFRI, seminars, Virtual lab and Wall magazine. We have various clubs which are for students to enhance skills and interest. These activities also enhance the social responsibility and creativity of the students. Gender ratio is of girls as it is women's college.

Admission

I got admission in BSc biotechnology course through merit. I applied to the course through online application and was given admission through merit according to my marks scored in 10+2. One should have studied 10+2 with Physics, chemistry and biology.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
