Remarks

The management is good and very helpful from time to time. They are required mainly during the exam time and the placements time.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is in par with the IITs and teaching is quite good. Being the 2nd old college in indian history, you can expect a good teaching curriculum. Yes, it definitely helped me into a better individual and i have learnt a lot in my final year in shaping me for my career. There are industrial visits in 3rd and 4th year for every streams and certain activities and projects are assigned in group of teams for completion. These will be very helpful for the on-campus placements in the industry.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement is quite good with around 90% of the students placed in good companies. Almost all of the IT and tech companies visit the college including Microsoft, Google, Uber, Amazon. They also take 3rd year students for internship. The process is usually done by taking a written test followed by 2-4 interviews depending on the company. The institution generally help in the self development of the individual by organising sessions for grooming communication skills and presentation skills along with resume writing and coding testing.

College Events

5

There are two events one is technical and other is cultural. Tech event i.e. Instruo happens in March followed by cultural event Rebecca in April. Instruo is a 3 day event in mid of March from Friday to sunday with various mind boggling coding, quizzes and debating and gaming. While cultural fest is of 4 days from Thursday to Sunday generally happens in evening days with various artistic performances. For participating in Instruo, both institute students as well as outside students can participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is expensive with almost 50K per semester for tution fees. However the hostels are cheap with 13k per semester. The transparency is provided with the breakup structure for library, admission and tution fees. Th amount is to paid in 8 installments one in each semseter.

Fees and Financial Aid

No i didnt. However they have certain programmes for that. If you have a good academic skills and a proven record, then very easily scholarship can be taken. Also, for the poor fellows and based on economic backgrounds, scholarship are provided.

Campus Life

3.5

There are very less girls almost 50-100 in a size of 600 students overall in the college. There a lot of cultural societies with debating, quizzing, coding, robotics, dance, drama, coding, singing and very much. You can be a part of as many societies as you want.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes, in 1st and 2nd year, you will share room with 3 other persons while in 3rd and 4th year, you will get a separate room. It will be a normal room with a bed, almirah and a table and a chair. The room is big and 3-4 persons can be easily adjusted. Hostel life will be very fun and everyone should experience it once in his lifetime.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no ragging and college seniors are very much helpful. Within a short time, you will see they are your friends and you will talk to them very frequently and enjoy and party with them. They help to provide books and get you the proper facility from their experience.

Admission

Back now in 2013, i entered the college thourough WBJEE eith a rank of 739. However, the process changed now and admission is done thourough JEE mains examination which happens twice the 1st in Jan and other in mid April. For admission into top branches, one must be getting a good rank within 10000.

Faculty

4

In a particular course, there are around 12-13 lecturers with an average age of 40. Each stream has a HOD followed by professors and assistant professors along with phd studenta for labs. The professors usually takes the classes with ppts and doubt clearing sessions with regular assignments with a deep clarity on the subjects being taught. From time to time, they help in letting us know the various certifications required for the self development.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin
