Remarks
The College is really good. Its mainly academic oriented. The management also provides all the necessary things required for students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Curriculum taught in this college is provided by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The syllabus is relevant enough but fails to bring some of the modern methods into application. The methods of examination evaluation also fails to work efficiently. Practical works are being done but it is not enough for a graduate to work.
Placement Experience
Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Federal Bank and MRF are some of the notable companies which visited this college in the last academic year. More than 400 students achieved placement. They require a minimum CGPA to allow the students to sit in the placement interview. The college has an efficiently working placement cell. They help students to get placements and to attent competitive examinations such as the GATE.
College Events
The College annually hosts one of the largest national techno cultural fest in the country. For the last two years its called Hestia 20 and Hestia 19. The Hestia fest is a great success and inspires school going students and other fellow students from different colleges to take more interest in the field of engineering. Before hestia, the college hosted festivals like the Conjura and Rithu which too were a great success.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is really feasible. If one is planning on entering the college thourough the entrance examination, they don’t have to pay anything during thour admission. They just have to pay tution fees and Examination fees in a fee structure laid out by the university as well as the Government of Kerala.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, i havent opted for a scholarship or educational loan as the fees for this college is very low and can be afforded by me and my family.
Campus Life
There are more male students as compared to female students as departments like the Mechanical engineering has very few female students. The ratio would be 3:5. The parties are not encouraged in hostels. There will be so many technical festivals thourough out an year, so there will be so many workshops and technical competitions held each year. Organisations such as IEEE, IEDC, ISTE etc organise workshops and competitions on a regular basis.
Hostel Facilities
Yes. I’m staying in a hostel provided by the college. There are different hostels that can be opted by a student. There are privately owned as well as management owned hostels and hostels with international facility are also available. I am staying in the international hostel for students abbreviated as INH. There are two people in one room and the rooms are cleaned everyday without fail. There are PGs as well are Rooms available for rentals for as low as 2000?/month.
Alumni/Alumna
The college is very old (62 years). So the alumni network is pretty strong. The Leader of Vikram Sarabhai Space research centre Dr.S Somanathan is a notable alumni. We have Ex- Members of Parliament, Great Entrepreneurs as alumnus from this college. They are also helpful for this college in many ways, be it in helping them securing a job or helping in different projects the college proposes.
Admission
Im really interested in the way modern technology works.I hope to build and engineer innovative and helpful solutions to problems faced by our society. For securing an admission in this college, one must write the kerala engineering entrance examination and should secure a rank good enough to get a seat here. The college management decides all the other forms of admission.
Faculty
The Faculties are well trained and has in depth knowledge in the subject they are assigned to teach. When it comes to the way in which they deliver the lectures, some of them fail to teach it the way students understand all the concepts. They help in research and project works in all ways possible. They are also very helpful in helping students in the portions that are difficult.
