Entrance Preview

I had no other option then to admit in college under university of calcutta was too late-when admission of most of colleges was exhausted.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The syllabus and entire course curriculum was too good since,it is of 'University of Calcutta'- that's all and the faculty was only three permanent sir and madam in honours subject(mathematics) but they was really good and student friendly the strength of faculty of pass subjects(physics and chemistry) was sufficient.

Internships Opportunities

It is a general course and as college level no compassing there so there was no stipend but had a facility 'free studentship' for poor student as per university rule.

Placement Experience

1

Already mentioned that there had not organised any compassing but as it is a general course the job opportunity is dependent only on self capacity of-course there was a large scope to build up won career the sir and madams was very helpful if one complete mathematics honours degree then many more job opportunity will open automatically.

College Events

2.5

Sarswati puja in our short college campus puja pandel acquire most of spaces in this little space only puja can retrieve all the students of our college and their lovers in one place, one think-unlimited fun. Though it was only for two days, but it last four to five days with several attractive programs and left a spirit in mind for a long time.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know whether any good scholarships or loans was available there and then none of our batch mates was with this facility.

Campus Life

1.5

Campus life is happily memorable some time in our consecutive off periods, we play cricket at rabindra sarobar gender Ratios- boys:girls=2:3 (approx as I saw the present students)labs(physics and chemistrypractical) are good but not modern and math's lab was just for name sport and competitions was very healthy, specially football team.

Hostel Facilities

1

There was only a canteen actually I don't know it's food availability and food quality and rate chart because I did not use this canteen there was no hostel then i don't know whether hostel is now available or not.

Alumni/Alumna

Most of senior students as I had known was connected with aimless politics for why I avoid them my network was good with other college students but without our college's students.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

In today's competitive job market it becomes important for the college to not just help students get degrees but also provide them with placements and internships so that they can have the experience needed to stand at a competitive footing with the rest of the candidates in the world. To look into this, St. Xavier's College has a Placement Cell run by Placements officer Mr. Niladri Sinha under whose guidance, various companies visit the college regularly looking for capable young minds to take under their wing and help provide them with the necessary exposure and experience so that they can combat any obstacles that they face.

Placement Experience:

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I wish to explore my options after completing the degree as of now.

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.
