Remarks

There is no negative thoughts. I have lived one great life there. The college offer everything - Knowledge, Friends from different states, Hostel enjoyment, Festival, Tours. Every instance taught me something to deal problems in life. Someone took everything positively and are in higher positions. Someone went to the dark side and left the college. It totally depends upon oneself how to embrace the situation- as there are both good and bad influence present.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course structure is good. There is enough time for self preparation. College have fast internet, so one can see NPTEL videos and master themselves. The course is a bridge sort of system. So when you are in Base Module in your 2nd year you would learn your branch subjects, computers along with PCM. So in a way you are in a advance position. Students with sheer dedication can crack all JE exams(SSC JE, PGCIL JE, etc) easily during their diploma module. So as a whole the college is giving diploma as well as degree. So you can get a job at any level. The branches are Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Agricultural. Physics, Chemistry, Math, Forestry.

College Events

4.5

There are two fest- SONABYSS (cultural) and SHRISTI (technical). Sonabyss is held during October- November. ShristI is held at March- April. Apart from this, every Northeastern state organise their own cultural festival. So there are lots of featival. In sonabyss dj, singers are called and it is a great extravaganza events. Great prizes are there. There is lots of enjoyment.

Fee Structure And Facilities

This is the most important part why everyone prefer the college. Under two lakh all your degree is completed. Average college fee is 3000 and hostel charge is 10000 per semester. To study in NERIST is a good investment. You can earn lakhs with a small course fee. The only criteria is to be sincere in studies, as there are lots of distractions. So for the poor and middle class, one should sincerely study and should not worry about money constraint of family.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a scholarship called NEC stipend. It is offered to meritorious students. Also there are state stipends. Since college fee is low, everyone can avail the the fee. So nobody generally take loan.

Campus Life

3.5

NCC, NSS. Students opt them during their admission. NCC cadets get active befor 26th Jan and 15th August. NSS candidates are sometimes called for campus cleaning, tree plantation, community service, etc. There is a sports event during January- February of 4- 5 days Marathon, Long jump, relay, etc are held. There is no discrimination. But there are lots of internal politics in institution but they doesn't hamper studies. As the share of northeast state students is more, each state organise their own festival as earlier mentioned.

Hostel Facilities

4

Everyone opts for hostel. Very few are day scholars. Mess food is north indian style. Breakfast is poori/rotI subji, banana bread, poha, chowmein. Lunch is served with seasonal vegetables. Dinner you have meat, fish, egg. Hostel is chill. Two people sharing. For senior they ask for single accommodation. Since college is old periodic maintenance is done there. Water comes timely. No load shedding. And every college hostel have a night life which should not be mentioned but is understood.

Alumni/Alumna

AlumnI network is getting improved in recent times. All alumnI organize an get together event in Bangalore. There are alumnI mentor program. But generally they doesn't take help. We generally speak to our senior and they share their own plus what they have from their seniors. Some of alumnI post jobs via alumniconnect.

Admission

It is one of the unique college in India, located in Arunachal Pradesh. They conduct three entrance exam for the students of metric level, senior secondary and diploma level. After class 10, the entrance test is NEE- 1. Those who wish to pursue engineering can directly admitted themself there. There is 3 module system. For first two year the Base module is equivalent to 10+2 UGC recognized course. If they secure certain GPA in all the semester they are promoted to next module, else can leave with 10+2 certificate.

Faculty

3.5

All institutions have a good faculty of particular subject per branch. So every branch has good faculty. They are from everywhere from all over India. Students has to maintain 75%attendance. So they prepare themself from YouTube, NPTEL lectures, along with class lectures and notes. All teachers are helpful and are available all the time to clarify doubts. Even lab instructor are also well- informed and give practical insights. Overall faculties are good. It solely depends on students to shape themselves.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was good. But it should be better by including more practical and site visits for better learning. The exams were not that much difficult you can pass easily. Exam frequency was also good

The Electrical Engineering course curriculum is quite comprehensive, covering key areas like circuit analysis, electronics, and power systems, which has well-prepared me for real-world applications, although incorporating more hands-on projects and industry insights could further enhance its relevance.

From 7th semester, we are eligible for placements. I am from cse branch and most students of CSE get placed with a decent package. Let's see what happens with my batch as my batch has the most students as compared to other batches. Last year the placements were not so good due to recession. Other branches like mechanical, ece, civil too get companies. I don't know about electrical engineering. But we get good number of opportunities for cse.
