Remarks

I would rate college as of the following :-- Education -- 8/10 Faculties -- 7/10 Sports -- 9/10 Placements -- 8/10 Extra curricular -- 8/10 Hostel facility -- 8/10 Infrastructure -- 7/10 So overall, the college is perfect for a good students and he can make a full use of it by performing well in academics as well as sports and extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is old and needs to be restructured. Since the present days are more dependent on big data technologies, there needs to be a course on python and basic industrial experience for the development of the individual. The exam happens semesterwise, with 8 semester in 4 years in a gap of 6 months. There also occurs a mid semester in each semester for the individual mid performance for that semester.

Placement Experience

4

The placement and job opportunity are fine with an average salary of around 6.5 lpa. However, in departments like civil and aerospace the institute still lags to provide much placement. Yes, internship is also provided but there are a limited companies and it depends on the exams the company takes, I got placed in my final year and currently working in Pricewaterhouse Coopers with an aggregate salary of 9 lakhs per annum.

College Events

4

There are very events celebrated segregated by departments. The common events are the college Tech fest and college cultural fest. Instruo in March with a lot of prizes along with cash and in april, Rebeca the cultural event where famous Indian artists perform.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is same as of NITs, with 50000 per semester as of tution fee. However, with such faculties and placements, its still a lot. If you are in a good stream like computer science, mechanical, electrical and electronics or information technology, then giving this amount is good but for civil and aerospace engineers, the fees is quite expensive with less experienced faculties.

Fees and Financial Aid

So each year college provides a scholarship to all those students who have performed well in their academics as well as extra curricular activities. Apart from that , poor students can also apply for a fee waiver and that is considered depending on the managements and the documents provided. Loan facility is provided by the bank in the college premises. So yeah, scholarships and prizes along with loans are provided.

Campus Life

3.5

There is a well dedicated football and basketball and cricket playgrounds. Also badminton playcourt is there. There are a lot of extra curricular activities performed like quizzing, debating, robotics , social activities and each of them have a society of their own. They conduct their sessions once a week where all the 4 year students collaborate and perform. Robotics, debating and quizzing society conducts quizzes of their own 3-4 times in a year. Considering sports, the institute has always encouraged sports and there is an annual sports meet where all the major sports took place with cricket, football, badminton, basketball, shotput, javelin throw and many atheltics tournament with 100,200,400 m race. internal hostel relay championship, swimming championships and many other tournaments.

Hostel Facilities

4

For the first and second year students, they have to share the room with 3 other hostelites. From the 3rd year, a separate room is provided to each students. The mess food quality is fine and there happens to be a 2-3 day food fest is each mess. Overall, compared to other colleges, hostel infrastructure and facilities is quite good.

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah, the alumni network is reachable and very much helpful. During the college tech fest and cultural fest, most of the donations are received by the alumnus and they contribute a major percentage in both these events. Apart from these, during the placements ,they are very much helpful and many of them talk to their teams and HRs for recruitment in the college. There is a body for Students union in the final year. And they are very much helpful to each and every students to raise their voices.

Admission

For admission to IIEST, there is an entrance exam WBJEE, Once you clear the cutoff for the exam, you have to fill choices for different colleges based on priority and then based on your rankings, you will get an admission into the college. The process is same nowadays, the only change is that the entrance exam is JEE-MAINS.

Faculty

3.5

Since IIEST now being a national college, the faculty should also be of national level and not just a regional level. The faculty of the college is not as of national level and needs to be changed and replaced. There need to be collaboration between faculties of different institutes and needs to be rotated yearly for proper effective study.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin
