Remarks

The institute is overall ok for me as by looking on behalf of education, faculties, library, labs, hostels, transportation, and various others facilities. But it would have been better if only there had been more placements and jobs ready for the students graduating. Apart from that, it's all.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Courses presented here in CIT are CSE, ECE, IE, FET, CIVIL. FET branch is the best in here. Every branch has its own specific lab with every piece of equipment required for the students. Exams are held at the end of every semester. There is a special method for back students. 3 chances are offered for 1st and 2nd sem students repeatedly in consecutive semesters. Exam papers are set in the University itself.

Placement Experience

1.5

At first placements and jobs, opportunities are almost nill in here due to communication. But in recent years it's rising slowly. No college does not provide internships bit the placement cell can approve the students to other institutes or training centres.

College Events

3

There are two main events in the institute. One is the technical event "TECHRACY" held around October and the other the cultural event "ECSTACY" held around march. It provides many opportunities to be practical in fields, encourages students to take part in sports events and cultural events showing their own talents. We welcome you here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible of around 50000 along with hostel and mess fee. When I took admission it was around 26000 but now it has been increased to around 50000 because the institute has been considered as deemed-to-be University in the year 2018.

Fees and Financial Aid

According to my knowledge, there are no scholarships facilities offered by the institute, but I hope they may offer in the coming years. But I think college may offer a loan for some good reason produced on owns behalf.

Campus Life

5

There are various extracurricular activities present in the institute from sports to gyms. We also have parks and the best central library in the whole NE region to my knowledge. The labs here are best for me as we are equipped with every required instrument. The Humanities lab is the best of all. We have various outdoor activities like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, etc and the indoor games arena is in construction and soon to be open for the audience. There is an ongoing construction of the Auditorium.

Hostel Facilities

3

Yes, I am a hostel boarder currently residing in JD hostel. The infrastructure and facilities here are awesome. Our institute has three hostels- 1 for girls and 2 for boys. There are some other hostels outside the campus for girls in 1st year.

Alumni/Alumna

I don't have any contacts to alumni as recently alumni association is formed and it has not been active currently. It may take some more years to come into action. It has been formed in this year 2019 itself so I have no news on that.

Admission

An advertisement for entrance exam on the College websites. Then an entrance exam was held in Guwahati after about 1 month and results are declared on the website after 1 month. Then a list of seats available is given on the website. There is an admission of 3 days held with seats filled revealed in the website after each day. I got admission on the third day on the waiting list through the Entrance Exam. We have to produce all the required documents given on the website and two copies of each document have to be attached along with the form. The payment method is online or we may also use cash.

Faculty

4

The faculties present in CIT are helpful. If we have doubts we can contact them after each class in their respective cabins. Some faculties are gold medalists. They explain every topic in-depth to help us understand.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester.
