4

i an studying commerce , as this college Maulana Azad College , Kolkata comes under the Calcutta University so the exam structure is CBCS system ( 3 years 6 semester). Student have to give 6 semester exam twice a year in the month of June and December respectively.

No , there is no placement in this college, so there is no chance of intership or anything. Student have to compete by themselves , there is nothing about placement in our college. But our college is best college in Kolkata for Science.

College Events

3.5

Many functions and festivals are celebrated in our college. Like Freshers party for the new students, farewell for old students, Saraswati Puja, independent day, republic day and many more events are celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee of this college is too low as i previously wrote that it is a fully government college , funded by central government and state government. Student got admission only through good marks. So a student have to pay almost ?6000 for a complete graduation. Means ?2000 a year only.

Fees and Financial Aid

There where many scholarship programme running in our college funded by both Central Government and State Government.Like scholarship for poor child, girls, minorities of West Bengal etc. There is also fee relaxation for poor children.

Campus Life

3.5

College has a very good infrastructure for computer labs , chemistry lab, biology lab and more. Many sports event take place in our college time to time for students who have interest in sports and extacurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3

College has its own hostel for boys named Bekar Hostel only for muslims. College is also building a girls hostel but that will take more than 2 years to complete the construction. And the fee of the hostel is also too low.

Alumni/Alumna

There is Alumni association in our college but we have no direct contact with them. Yes, seniors are helpful if anyone is interested in something. Actually the environment of the college is very good for both junior and senior students.

Admission

Firstly after receiving the result of class 12 i fill up the online admission form, and got selected in first merit list due to good marks (88%) in class 12th then college conduct a simple counsiling i attended that and got the admission in UG B.com Honours successfully.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is very good as it is a fully a government college funded by UGC. There is common rooms both for girls and boys, gym etc. Well educated teachers with vast experience. The infrastructure of the college is also very good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is average , I chose this course because I wanted to do an honours degree and I'm from commerce background so my first pick was B.Com . They really put efforts to prepare students for well future , as I said earlier some teachers are genuinely very good helpful supporting and good at what they do . Something they need to approve is the 70% attendance criteria, I think they need to understand not every student is just persuing graduation they are doing some other courses or jobs etc so they can't maintain 70% attendance . The frequency of timing is average
