Remarks

The only negative remark I'd say is the red tape in college is just the most annoyingly everything excruciating thing you'll have ever gone through, like if you think getting something done in a government office is bad, Christ is like ten times worse

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is a tad bit outdated because we still learn about things that are just not required anymore like personally I had to study a method of plant taxonomy that's been considered obsolete as newer better methods have appeared which weren't taught to us but the exam structure is quite modern where you get 60% of the grade from your final exams 25% from mid sems 20% from assignments and 5% from attendance.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placements for biology students are scarce and very mediocre. Internships are provided only to law school students. Everyone's supposed to compulsorily finish an internship but you'll have to look for it on your own

College Events

5

There's a new event every week in college because every department needs to have a fest and our college has over 20 of them. The events that are college wide are: DARPAN - it's the college's annual talent hunt where you'll be put into the college's cultural team if you win Blossom's - the inter departmental fest where departments battle it out to see who's best Christmas celebrations are always beautiful with the college all dolled up in lights and decorations Magnificat - the annual gathering of angelic choirs Specific to my course Chemoz - chemistry department fest Jeevothsav - life science department fest Biogala - cultural fest for life sciences Spirits - sports fest

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's dirt cheap for my course. I pay Rs. 16500 every year, while most other science based courses are around 30-60 thousand rupees, most of the arts courses are under 60k as well whereas the business oriented bcom and bba have to pay over a lakh, the law school kids pay close to 2lakhs. The MBA program pays the highest with the entire fee amounting to about 7 lakhs a year

Fees and Financial Aid

College itself has many need and merit based scholarships but you'll need to have more than 85% attendance to avail any of them. Externally the government of India provides scholarships to students studying basic sciences so those are easily available to apply

Campus Life

4

The labs are adequate and barely pass the minimum criteria. There's a whole host of eggs curricular activities as the University believes in the multifaceted development of an individual there's always one or another play going on. The sports team here is one of the best in the country especially basketball

Hostel Facilities

0.5

The hostel in Christ is of a very mediocre quality with many unecassary rules and regulations and they don't even provide good so more than 90% choose to stay outside the University in Shared accommodations

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network provide a need cum merit based scholarship and Senior students are quite approachable and since I'm in my final year I try to be as approachable as possible and I'm also good friends with many of the Juniors in college

Admission

I had to apply online after which I was called in for a written assessment test. In the written assessment test I was asked to write for or against using animals as test subjects keeping in mind the ethics or keep thereof. Later I was called in for an interview where I was asked basic questions like what's a synapse and then later moving on to the usual personal questions like why Christ and why biology. A week later I got an email stating I'd gotten in.

Faculty

3.5

I think the best faculty in my college would be from the arts department with commerce coming in a close second followed by the law school lectures, with science lecturers being the worst of the lot. But like any other place you can always find amazing and terrible teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspects is that microbiology is a well developing scope of science in the world. We know how important this subject was when Covid had come to the world. It is related to this subject and find it's relevance everywhere. The course curriculum had started with basics of microbiology and microbial techniques later getting deeper into the subject. The syllabus is set by our college faculties and department head and it is very relevant for future studies. Improvement is needed in teaching methods. Otherwise it's a good place and subject. We get enough time to prepare and write the exams. The papers are usually not difficult if you've prepared we'll. It is on a moderate level.
