Muhammed Hanas's Review On Government Engineering College - [GECK], Kozhikode

KEAM entrance examinationI scored 307 in that examination. My rank is 7184, and I wish to join in mechanical engineering course,But I didn't get because of my rank,Second option is civil engineering, Finally I got admission in civil engineering branch.

I assess course curriculum by placement coming ,in joining time. But I wish to join in mechanical branch, due to my rank I got civil,And I always select electives with less theory.

Gec calicut college have comparitively low placements,Often placements are coming from it companies like infosys, in this year no placement had come we went to Thrissur engineering college for placement.

In last year 13 were placed from civil department only,In this year we went to thrissur engineering college And 6 were placed.

We were celebrated technical fest named "Lakshya"in 2012, 2013.And mech fest named RIOGA in 2012, 2013, 2014, And we are going to "LAKSHYA 2015"And we have been celebrating small programs.

In odd semester fees is about 3000 to 3500,And 2000 to 2500 in even semester,Total 6000 something in each yearFor sc/st free about only 300/-And for OBC there are scholarships.

There are mainly three main scholarships CENTRAL SECTOR, KPCR, MOMAThe best is Central sector which give 10000 per year.Second is kpcr for OBC students, and moma which give fees directly to college.

Our college gender ratios is about 50-50, average campus life not very good because less area for college , our college is economically average, Our college is under SFI union.

Total 8 semester exam odd semester coming in november-december, and even ecam coming in march-april.In each exam there are two series exam.And lab and drawing exams.
