Remarks

College is awesome. College life was great. The faculties were amazing. The friend circle that gets created is awesome. The feeling of lonliness is never there as teachers or students are always there for you.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I believe pursuing only B.Com in todays world isn't good enough for doing well in future. So I had decided to do CA and succesfully cleared CA in my first attempt securing 19th All India Rank. B.Com course curriculum was decent enough to cover the basics of various subjects. Though detailed concepts were never tested in any of the subjects. There were 6 semester exams over a period of 3 years( 2 sem in a year).

Placement Experience

4.5

There is a placement cell in the college and many companies or firms do visit the placement programme. When I was in my second year of B.Com and also cleared my IPCC, various firms including the Big 4s came to the college. I was selected in one of the Big 4s. The experience was amazing. The first year stipend was 10,000.

College Events

3.5

Various events are celebrated in our college by different clubs. There are many clubs in which one can participate like RCHR, Choice, etc. These clubs even participate in Inter college events occuring in other colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees were very much affordable. It wasn't expensive at all. Before the start of every year, we used to pay the college by a demand draft. I think the exam fees constituted the major part of the fee structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my knowledge, I haven't come across any loan facility or any scholarship offered by the college. But there might be some scholarship for the deserving candidates though I am not sure about it as I haven't heard about it.

Campus Life

2

Every year there is an event of the college ' Sports Day' which is a great event for all the sports enthusiast. Many sports are organised in which we can participate. As it a commerce college there are no labs in the college. There are dance practices that keep on happening on the terrace of the college for some or the other events.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very strong. There are alumnis like Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhavan who have graduated from H. R College. Senior students are also very kind and helpful in nature. On the annual function, some or the other dignitary who is an alumni is also invited by the college.

Admission

After 10th standard results, I filled a form with a list of colleges in a preferential order. Merit lists were announced. My first preference was H R college and since my % were high enough, I made it in the first list and got the admission.

Faculty

4.5

The college faculty were very good. Their articulation skills were good. Every faculty was qualified enough to teach the respective subjects and had enough practical knowledge regarding the same. All the faculties were very helping.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

De Shaw, and Bain Capital are among the biggest companies and lighter companies are also many. Visa and all are also there which are rare otherwise. For b.com though 30-40k is what is offered but I feel it's fair enough.

Placement Experience:

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.

Placement Experience:

Impeccable, amazing and unbelievable are the placements here. For B.Com which is as always a crowded college, making sure 60-70% students have placements through campus is a task not less than climbing everest. So definitely all I can say is our college has done so well that it is now the first choice college for commerce not just among Mumbaikars but overall as well.
