Chethan's Review On TKM College Of Engineering - [TKMCE], Kollam

In my opinion TKMCE is providing quality tecnical education and at the same time giving students maximum freedom to enjoy their most fruitful period. If you happen to be a TKM, you will not forgot that wonderful days.

i took Kerala Engineering And Medical (KEAM) entrance conducted by entrance commisioner of Kerala. TKMCE is said to be the second best engineering college under KEAM, that is why I selected TKMCE. One should secure a state rank below 1000 or 1200 in KEAM to get admission for Electronics, Mechanical or Electrical streams in TKMCE.

The curiculum is revised after the introduction of Kerala Technical Universitu (KTU) earlier the college was under Kerala University. The course and faculty are one of the best available in kerala. But there was a delay in publishing the results but I think it is rectified after the introduction of KTU.

Unfortunately no companies are offering any internships for the students in TKMCE.

Almost 70-80% of the students will get placed. But most of the companies are IT companies. Some of the main companies and their package are given below.TCS 4 Lacks CTC per annum, Wipro 3.75 Lacks,Quest 3.5 Lacks,Oracle 7.5 Lacks,Envestnet 5.5 Lacks,Qburst 4 Lacks etc.

TKCE conducts a technomanagerial fest called TEZORO and intercollege arts fest called RITHU. Both these fests are pretty big and there will be participants from all around kerala including NIT and other eminent colleges.

If you get admission by merit the fee is just nominal just 6000 per year.

College is offering very few scholarships but there are many other government scholarships like central sector,minority scholarship etc.

No social,gender,racial or any other discriminations are present in the college. There are opportunities for all extra curricular and co curricular activities but there will not be any initiative from the college authorities students should take the initiative.

Almost all boys and every girls will get admission in college hostel. The facilities and cleanliness is very good. Food is also good. There is wifi facility in all hostels. There are two sharing,three sharing and four sharing rooms. Average rent is around

I think the alumni network is not that elaborated. But there will be some programs and interactions with the alumnis occassionally.

Exams and labs are not that much hectic in electronics but tha labs are somewhat hectic.
